Who invited the forigeners? lol just joking guys.
To even purpose that the election was rigged is a complete joke.
And also, for those of you who appose the electoral college, it protects us from having a candidate win because 18 year old girls across the country think this guy is cuter, so he gets the vote. As it is right now, voting is directed only to those who care, and even then their vote isn't all that matters. IQ tables? Are you serious man, what a piece of shit.
Bush won because currently he is better for our country in the eyes of the American people, whether you think so or not, that how we voted, but can we change it for 4 more years? No sir we cannot, so stop complaining already.

the electorial college was set up back in the late 1700's i believe to help counter out the votes. people in the cities who were more educated didn't want all the farmers and uneducated people voting with the same power as they had because they didn't know as much about the canidates. i think it's a great system that works well for our country

To Lost Ghost:
I quote you: "it protects us from having a candidate win because 18 year old girls across the country think this guy is cuter, so he gets the vote"
That's with all my respect is the most stupid argument i've ever heard.
1st - You are pre-judging the quality of a vote. (Is democracy that way?)
2nd - In an analogue procedure some other people could say that you are a "jerk" and that your vote should not be taken in account.
3rd - Why don't you all rank and call the most intelligent people in the world and let him to decide who should be the president as everybody agree he's more intelligent than any.
On our (foreingners) opinion about it:
You are right in that americans should decide how they choose their own president, no comments about it. (BTW: try to keep it in mind when the USA government pretends to dictate other countries which way they should live, latin america's dictatorial periods in the 70's were aproved and supported by your government)
I had understood every one to express our thoughts, i'm not saying what you (americans) should do.
I'm just saying that I (Fapper) have some reasons to think that universal direct vote it's the best way democracy can be.
Note that i'm not asking you to understand why as i see instead on reading our comment you denny them just by saying we are not american or in the case we are you just say we are one of those a stupid girls.
I didn't mean to be rude to you, so I apologize if my words offend you, it's just that your reply pissed me off a little bit.

that's what makes the world go around fapper. everyone else having their own opinion. if what you said offended anyone, they need to suck it up and realize that the world isn't there to agree with you all the time. i believe this forum is to express your opinions even if they might offend people. go for it and tell people what you think

Agreed...That's why we have a flame section... :AYHJA1: If you feel offended, then just come out and say that shit man...Nobody here will edit or delete your posts, as long as what you say it topic relevant, go for it...
At any rate, Fapper does make interesting points...As I am hardly convinced that they take an IQ census and decided what areas of votes count, and which ones don't...I live in an extrememly rural area, where the average person probably doesn't read...My vote, in all likelyhood, would not mean shit...
But, it somehow makes sense to have an electoral college, but in another sense, it totally contradicts what sufferage is all about...

I think electoral college is sustained just and only because of tradition.
As Constitution stablishes the citizens are all equals. And you know that had happended that a Candidate with more People's vote lost the election because he had less Electoral's votes. So in the end some votes do not have the same strengh what contradicts the starting premise.
That happened in the previous election and i admit wouldn't be fair to if this time Kerry had won when actually Bush had more people's votes.
And most important thing to remember is that Democracy is not just about to let the majority to gobern but what i think is even more relevant than that is to defend the minorities so everyone's rights are assured.

Fapper, no sweat bro, I don't get offended easily.
My new question is, in simple easy for everyone (not just the people on this site I'm referring to all of America) to understand terms, since you hate the current system, what would you purpose we do?
(the easy to understand part is, if in fact it was good enough, then all the idiots would need to be able to comprehend how it works to you know?)
