I've been meaning to check True Blood out. Is the writing on it of the same caliber as BTVS or Angel?!?

I can't answer that, since I've never seen either of the above. The Lawnmower Man wrote:I've been meaning to check True Blood out. Is the writing on it of the same caliber as BTVS or Angel?!?
But, it is a great new series on HBO that nearly everyone I know who have watched it, love it. I think it's very good, and a interesting new wrinkle into the "olde vampire lore".
What you'll love about the show: The copious amount of sex & bloodplay, the dark humour, and the opening theme.
What'll probably irk you now and again: nearly everyone associated with Sookie, what's up the rich humanitarian lady with the pig (later in the season) and the last episode's whole pace of revelation.

I suppose if it's HBO, it's def worth the inspection. I honestly have not been able to get into get into a fictional show since the 2 aforementioned ones were cancelled. It's not for lack of trying either. I've tried everything from Veronica Mars to Lost to Dead Like Me and come up with SFA. Other than True Blood, I've been also told to suss out Pushing Daisies, Deadwood and My Name Is Earl. The one show I have tried that blew me away was HBO's Rome. that was the shit! A shame it ended after 2 seasons.. :p

Hey Jig
I thought Pushing Daisies was brilliant. It was just quirky enough to be really funny without being twee in any way but, sadly. they've killed that after two seasons as well. But I would still recommend that you watch what's available, you'll like it.
As for me, I'm still working my way through the X-Files again, my favourite show of all time :D
