i'm not sure about the lack of reasoning and accountability argument.
i think there plenty of men and women who fit that bill and i'm not sure there is a gender effect.

with regard to the women not understanding when to change her oil. that has huge amount to do with societal conditioning - that men are encouraged to know about cars & women are likewise discouraged.
a similar situation is with computer literacy, older generations are less comfortable with IT, emails etc than younger generations, but that doesnt mean that they are intellectually any different, its just the effect of conditioning.

It's like it's reading comprehension problem week or something. I never said that ALL women lack it. I said that MOST women lack it.

If men have issues with lack of reasoning or accountability then it's because they were raised by single mothers.

It's not about being encouraged to learn about cars either. It's all about aptitude. Men have a natural mechanical aptitude to learn how things work. Most women could care less. They just put gas in it and it goes, if not a man will fix it.

If you, jdog, indeed love women and believe that at least some women have common sense (inferable from your statement that most women lack common sense), would you be willing to cite just a few individual examples of women whom you like on account of their qualities and capabilities (as opposed to those whom you like on account of their aesthetic/erogenous characteristics)?

Actually, I do. I have a female friend in Florida whom I miss greatly. She is the nicest and most sincere person that I have ever met. She doesn't have any of the poor traits that most of today's younger women have. There probably wouldn't be anything that I wouldn't do for her if she ever asked it out of me.

But one out of thousands that I have met and known in my life just doesn't cut it for the rest of the gender. That's why I will never say "all" but "most". ;)

^ LMFAO.

But, the point is clear. When you say things like "Men have a natural mechanical aptitude to learn how things work" as if you know it for an objective fact, it throws off any credibility you've tried to gain by merely telling us that you've known thousands of women.

And I don't mean to be insincere with you, you've probably met thousands upon thousands of them...and spent enough time with all of them to be able to determine that they don't have common sense, or at least...most of them don't. In fact, that's all you really need to say to seem like you know what you're talking about, right? Nevermind all the other horseshit opinions you throw around like it's the obvious facts that the rest of us were somehow un-exposed to. Or when you pull the "I'm just a man who is educated about women" card....do you honestly think anyone is buying it?

It's cool if you're some bitter, pissed off dude because of some past experience with a woman...but at least be self aware enough to admit that...instead of pretending that you've drank from some fountain of understanding of the female gender and the rest of us are just so unfortunate to not feel the way you do.

I mean, if we're actually talking about something that's worthwhile to know about, or something interesting...it's neat to be the guy who is educated about it....but if the shit you're spewing is misogyny...you should probably keep that hate speak closer to the vest, it isn't a good look to spout it around like you're more educated than everyone.

Hmmmm...

1. How many construction workers are men? Percentage based? 99.9%? How many car mechanics are men? Percentage based? 99.9%? I'd say that's a natural aptitude for making things work.
2. Now you are attacking some sort of credibility on the number of women I have known in my life? I really don't care.
3. Stop being such a mangina and educate yourself.

Bitter? ROFL!

Another fool that tosses out the word "misogyny" instead of "misogamy". There is a difference! Go learn it! I don't hate women. I don't think they are inferior. I actually strive for equality of the sexes.

You are such a mangina that it shines through! Pity...

Edit- I'll just end this here. I have voiced my opinion about the actual topic of this thread. If the rest of you want to continue your "who knows women better" debate then start a new thread somewhere else.

Then you're CLEARLY not using any type of thinking that involves logic. All those stats prove, if they are even remotely true (which is probably unlikely), is that men are more likely to be construction workers or car mechanics than women....it says nothing about aptitude at all, like seriously NOTHING about aptitude.

Even if it did say something about aptitude, which it really, really doesn't...how is it even remotely true that it says something about "making things work" ? In fact..."making things work" is such a stupidly defined term because of how broad it is. Making what work? Cars? Is that all you're now willing to say, based on your fake stats? That men are more likely to hold a job that deals with making cars work? Now THAT may be an educated statement....but it really doesn't tie into your whole "women are incapable" thesis....

I mean, I seriously don't believe that you're saying shit like "educate yourself" when you're spewing horseshit like this. You're not even close to making a logical statement that has any truth or merit...and yet you're telling everyone else they need to learn more. This hypocrisy may be cute for a 6 year old...but for a grown ass man, this shit is sad.

jdog wrote: 2. Now you are attacking some sort of credibility on the number of women I have known in my life? I really don't care.

The only reason to attack that is because you're passing it off as if it adds to your credibility, which clearly it doesn't. I'm just merely pointing out that you have no real basis to claim that you're more educated than anyone else about women.
jdog wrote: 3. Stop being such a mangina and educate yourself.

Ahh, yes. More of this stuff that really does prove how right you are.... what a joke.
jdog wrote:Another fool that tosses out the word "misogyny" instead of "misogamy". There is a difference! Go learn it! I don't hate women. I don't think they are inferior. I actually strive for equality of the sexes.
I'm fullly aware of the difference. Even if I wasn't beforehand, it is written IN THIS THREAD what the difference is. Just because two people willingly choose to call you a misogynist over a misogamist doesn't mean we're idiots who don't know the difference...it means, based on the shit YOU'VE said in this thread and forum, you're a misogynist....not merely a misogamist.
jdog wrote:You are such a mangina that it shines through! Pity...
This is what I was talking about in my earlier post. Apparently, according to Jdog...not only is it a pity that we don't hate women...but it makes us a "mangina". You can throw around as many terms as you want to try and make other people look bad...but I don't understand why you don't see that you're the one who looks bad when you advocate for misogyny.

The whole point is that your skewed view of the female gender makes your ideas about what is acceptable or not skewed as well and I really don't think you know that. I'm just trying you help you out, bro.

Sorry, I skipped your entire post. Apparently you missed the part that I was done with this?

If you want to start a new thread then by all means go ahead? This type of conversation is off topic and also not sports related. Thanks!

I'm going to piggy back on the original subject of this thread with this point: http://search.espn.go.com/jenny-dell/video/6

Go ahead and watch her videos. She's ESPN sports analyst, Jenny Dell. That is a woman that is doing sports reporting and she isn't resorting to wearing spray on clothing. THAT is how a woman should do it if she wants respect of a professional.
