QUOTE(AYHJA)I can guarantee, if I sat here to make a list of accolades, to compare the two, Dre wouldn't come close...

Now I find this fuckin' funny, haha...What are you saying..? In Pharell's whole career, he's only won 2 grammy's, which he shared with Chad Hugo...Dr. Dre has 4 sweet grammy's in total right now, including a Producer of the Year, Non Classical.
A grammy 'nomination' is different from 'winning' it, it's the winner who's go the respect, who the fuck gives if someone was nominated or not..? It's the winner who carries the golden cup home..! The list you wrote there isn't right anyway, but I don' thave time to start critizing and arguing with you about that now, doesn't make sense. Pharell didn't do SHIT on Mariah Carey's album, so I don't know where you got that from. Only Jermaine Dupri I can say did something in her album.
I'll just keep quiet from now on, 'coz it looks like I'm arguing with 2 adults here, and I don't want you guys to start getting pissed at me, I'll give you guys your respect. Mr. Ayhja said Dre never made a #1 hit single. What you just said is just the opposite, Dr. Dre has one of the most produced number one hits...Didn't 50 Cent's In Da Club stay on the #1 position for more than 7 weeks consiistently..? Didn't Eminem's Real Slim Shady, My Name Is, stay there too..? Didn't Forgot about Dre stay there..?
I respect you guys that you're older than me, but...c'mon LoL, you know that Pharell can't come close...
Anyways, gotta go now, PEACE...

This isn't a lack of respect - for you or Dre.
Habib, I am not the kind of person who holds age in someone's face, but all you have shown is you walked in with a bias, and never bothered to look past the current popularity of Pharell. You simply have no idea how much he has accomplished, and that's ok. I suspect if I had never heard of him, and then everyone was playing him out at school or on the block to where I could not stomach a word he said, I would prefer the much more terse Dre myself. People might not like Dre, but with his lack of vocal talent, you never have to hear him say much. And he more than makes up with it just by saying "Hell,..yeahhh." and letting you know he ain't about mouthin off. I have been bumpin hip-hop since the barey eighties. My ex-step-dad worked on juke boxes when he wasn't laying brick, and we had some very live joints in the house before they were ever meant for caucasian consumption. I was remixing songs in 1986, and have been ever since. Computers make it SOOO much easier.
I would go so far as to ask if this was for all time, then why isn't Jam Master Jay on here or Track Masters? He was the first man to produce using synthesized beats. But if it is for all time, including present - I would concede it was Dre, he made the game everyone is trying to change. He made gansta rap marketable, and he established the G-Funk. He did this with a conviction, and he did it well, and created a genre of music that you can take any three dudes and two bandanas and make an album. Then, the work he did with eminem was amazing, and he made another empire out of that.
But CURRENTLY, Pharell is a hotter producer, and he is not as young and new as people think. He came out the door running while he was still in high-school and pulled off the number five joint of the year. He is far more demanded, and he is far more active. And depite what you may think Pharell's a Grammy winning producer and Artist, AND he is returning for a possible second win, for a SECOND Producer of the Year award, and has helped many of the people get there (and Dre has as well, but not as many now), including the belle of the ball, Gwen Stefani, who will be performing with Star Trak label artist Slim Thug. Watch the Grammy Awards and see.
As far as record of the Year, in addition to Gwen, Neptunes is also listed as a Producer on Mariah's album:
The Emancipation Of Mimi
Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey, Bryan Michael Cox, Eric "Cire" Crawford, Jermaine Dupri, Young Genius, Scram Jones, The Legendary Traxster, LROC, The Neptunes, James Poyser, Manuel Seal, Kanye West & James "Big Jim" Wright, producers
So, I ain't trying to beef. i am just saying do the research before you think Pharell is not in the spotlight, RIGHT NOW, or if you think he has no right to be.

as an errata: I was wrong, Dr. Dre does recieves co-production credits on Gwen's album, and possibly elsewhere. I know he helped many of the people in the game, but it about it you are on the resume... that's what matters.

What I was arguing about with Mr. Ayhja was "who makes better beats..? Which beats are hotter..?" Dr. Dre's or Pharell's...Okay, I get th epoint that you're trying to support Mr. Ayhja here, but go and search on the internet for "Best hip-hop producer", you'll see Dr. Dre as #1 in all of them. I have already done that, and that's a good enough research...
I mean, why are you guys tryna argue with me on this..? You both know that Dr. Dre is the best producer, it's like a known fact in hip-hop. Everyone who listens to rap knows that Dre makes the best beats, so I don't know what's up with you guys and Pharrell. There are so many guys better than Pharrell: Swiss Beatz, DJ Premier, Jermaine Dupri, Timbaland e.t.c.
I wanna ask both of you for a favor, just list the BEST 10 beats you think is Pharell's hottest, then I'll list the BEST 10 beats that's Dre's hottest, then we'll compare...

I did a search. show and prove.
yahoo search, main site:
entry No. 1:
Pharrell Williams of the Grammy-winning production duo The Neptunes tops Esquire's second annual list of the "Best Dressed Men in the World."
Esquire credits Williams with "injecting dressed-up luxury into hip-hop style and thereby influencing a new generation of guys to consider more than just a pair of baggy jeans a reflection of their youthful vitality."
Williams, 32, tells the magazine: "It's never about whether I'm the best-dressed guy in the room. I never go, 'Oh, I'm killin' 'em tonight!' Instead it's about comfort and the flow."
Andre 3000, ranked No. 1 last year, dropped to No. 5.

and for the record, I never said he was the best of all time, I said he is currently the hottest; i.e. "the most demanded."

Dude, I can't say that Dre makes the best beats...
When I'm lovin' almost everything Pharrell does...And I just haven't heard that much from Dre the past few years Homez, you listening to Dre shit that is 10 years old, talking about he is the best...I can't agree with that...His past cannot be challenged, but his present certainly can...
