See that's the thing, I didn't start watching Smallville until Season 5...When I first heard about the idea of another Superman TV show, I had bad tastes in my mouth from Lois and Clark and absolutely refused to watch it...It wasn't until I'd rented every fucking video in the store that I even started watching Smallville...And then once I gave it a chance, I couldn't stop watching...

Smallville has been on TV going on its 8th season...TV shows don't run that long w/o some serious viewers kicking in on it...The same general moviegoers that went to see Superman Returns (remember, there hadn't been a Superman movie in decades) would go see this, only this time, they'll have 22 Episodes of Smallville leading up to it...Wiki says Smallville had its lowest turnout of the shows inception, and that's still 3.7 million viewers...One wouldn't help but to think that there are lots of people that used to watch the show that would be curious enough about a Smallville movie to see it in theaters...
people who aint seen the shit have too many negatory preconceptions of the show.
Seems like I was one of those folk until I watched it...Everyone I've turned onto, even my Mom, who knows shit about comics or Superman movies, is hooked on it, and she's almost 50...A Smallville movie to cap the TV show would probably be bigger than most people think...

Oh I agree with you. Ne0 & yourself have told me otherwise, & I believe you. I'm just waitin' on the dvds to hit the cheap again before I dive into it. I'm sure a movie would be a nice ending cap to it all. I still wished Joss Whedon had gone that route to finish up Buffy with. Hey my mom dukes is hittin 70 this year & she still cool as fuck gettin' into all the cool movies n tv shows i watch. still puffs on a joint with me & the boys whenever she throw a partay or bbq.

I know Ubes is crazy about Smallville but I'm just metza metza on the whole Smallville thing besides the great actor that does Luthor. The problem with a Smallville movie is that it would have to be Luthor centric because he's such a big part of the show and I think they DEFINITELY need new blood in a Superman flick. As much as I love the way that kid plays Luthor I needs me some Brainiac (comic version) or Doomsday or cripe even the Toyman.

You figure in our lifetimes the villains he's mostly tangled with:

SMI - Luthor
SMII - Luthor, Zod
SMIII - Richard Pryor (I still scratch my head and say WTF on that one)
SMIV - Luthor, Atomic Man(??!!?!)
SMR - Luthor
Superboy - Luthor
Lois & Clark - Luthor
Smallville - Luthor, Brainiac

Ok the last three series had other villains too but they have mostly been lame adversaries and Luthor has been the biggest recurring villain. I mean Luthor is great but enough already!

Well, you know they are talking about bringing Doomsday to Smallville this upcoming season...They're going to have to completely rework his origin, but imagine the season ending with Doomsday being born at teh same time CK goes to the fortress to wear the suit for the first time ever...

And to see what happens, you have to see the Smallville movie...And in that movie, we'll have everything sweet about what the show was...The Justice League and all...Give Routh a cameo as the son of Dr. Swan...

Ahh, one can dream, can't they..? :D

Yeah Doomsday the 5' 11 bartender. Ick! :p I'm still pinning my hopes on a Routh sequel no matter who the director is.

[center] Mark Millar Talks More Superman
Source: Den of Geek
July 21, 2008

Den of Greek tells us they interviewed Mark Millar and asked more questions about his proposed "Superman" revamp that they will pitch to Warner Bros. Pictures if Bryan Singer wouldn't do a Superman Returns follow-up:

We've just done a new interview with Mark Millar and asked him all about Superman. the link is HERE

Among the things he says:

* Everything he's done is building up to a Superman film
* His position regarding Bryan Singer
* How reverent he'd be to the Donner version

Yeah he sounds like he really has a love of the material and character....I just really don't want to watch another reboot or origin story. Especially when you know it'll have to at some point center around Luthor who...well I've already gone there.

LOL...

I'm not sure who else of Superman's enemies would make for a good story besides Luthor...The only thing I didn't like about that Millar interview was the talk of a reboot and recast...Roush was not, I repeat, was NOT the problem...He did as good a job being Superman as anyone, and would only get more comfortable in the role...I like him, and don't really think you could do much better unless you cast a more familiar face like Welling...

Ain't nothing wrong with Routh nor Spacey. I say give Singer one more chance as much I am curious to see what Millar would do with it. Plus I'm not certain that Millar's vision is that good as he mentioned something about making it kid-friendly. I agree with darkie, it's too soon for a reboot & that would just alienate general audiences who primarily know Supes from the movies alone. This whole recasting nonsense is just the dreaded Hollyweird machine @ work cos some dumbass director/producer/studio exec wants to stroke their ego(s) & recieve credit to gain more juice by saying "yeah I recast this shit".If Warners had any balls like Marvel , they'd do something that's never been done before & reboot the story w/out getting rid of those two guys as they are still very much under contract to do more. btw my curiosity is a bit more piqued too @ a Smallville movie since i saw those flying sequences in that montage one of you guys put up months ago.
