The reason I would pick Shaq as my guy to build a team around is based on the following reasons:
1. He is a team first player and could give a shit if he leads the league in scoring average.
2. He's 7 feet tall, 300 pounds.....and can't be shut down by anyone in the league.
3. He's never been accused of rape and totally fucked up a team destined for greatness.
4. He's not Kobe Bryant.
Now, I'll admit that none of these are good enough reasons to convince anyone that Shaq is a guy that you should build around
and that's not the point I was trying to make.
What I was getting at was why I didn't think Kobe was the "best" in the league and I'll stand by it.
IMO the biggest thrill he got the night he scored 81 was not that he won the game, it was that he was the leading story on SportsCenter.....call be a pesimist but thats my feeling.

"and since you love your team basketball.....if you're building a team....and you had one player to build your team around....I'm
assuming you'd want Rip Hamilton...or a nice team player to fit in your unselfish scheme......Kobe..LeBron..KG...none of those
one-man-shows going on would be a logical or smart pick right?"
Don't bring KG and LeBron into the conversation as I gave you my reasons as to why I didn't like Kobe...LeBron and KG both have the
quality I like in a player....someone that would rather win than lead the league in scoring. They just happen to care about both.
I don't know basketball nearly as well as you do and really don't care to but I will tell you that not to long ago, players were
more concerned with winning instead of how many endorsements they have. That's my problem and is the sole reason I tend to not
watch basketball much.....to me the players are just too self centered.
*and just for the record.....I'd take Rip and his teams record over Kobe and his 45 ppg average ANY day of the week.
