Re: 2008 MLB General News Thread
I'm pretty excited about this World Series. First, because the Red Sux didn't make it, but also because the Rays and the Phillies are two very young teams and I'm excited for what the future has in store for both of them. This Series may be a good precursor of what the future of baseball might be.
And the fact that the Rays rank 29th out of the 30 MLB teams in payroll - that's impressive

Maybe I'm just being a hater, but I'm just ready for baseball to be over already... :|

You are just a hater. Baseball is a great sport

You know, I think WS just might go 7 games and be better than people think.

Re: 2008 MLB General News Thread
I for one think Selig did the right thing suspending the WS game. All the Philly fans who are crying that they got robbed of having Cole Hammels game made useless, get over it. He pitched 6 innings. I think at most he'd pitch the 7th but not much more. So they don't really lose much. And he did give up the tying runs. Besides, if you're bullpen is so bad they can't get 9 outs to win the WS, then you don't deserve to win. Not to mention, now with the delays, there's a chance if the series goes 7 games, Hammels might be able to pitch in game 7.
And to all those knuckle heads who say the WS should be in a neutral war weather city like the Superbowl, just how well did that workout two years ago in Miami between Chicago and Indy? The weather was horrible and that was on of the sloppiest games I've ever watched. Players couldn't run, hold on to balls, and the QB's had problems throwing. Weather happens, you can't predict it. Deal with it.

Yeah I think it just goes to show that God wanted that game played in Boston...we didn't have rain that night....nyuck nyuck nyuck...Seriously I think it was pretty stupid on the commish's part to not check the weather and see a nor'easter blowing through. They shoulda held the game until the weather cleared up. The next two (if needed) were in a dome anyway.
I still can't believe Tampa is playing so lousy though. I thought besides Hammels they'd paste Philly. Ah well...
