They're trying to take all the religiousness out of it and explain Thor and the Asgardians as aliens with advanced tech that live thousands of years. Just so they can be in the same "universe" as Stark. So fuckin lame. So anything mythical is just too far fetched in a Marvel movie I guess eh? That's what is so cool about the comics is all the stuff is a hodgepodge of everything magic, religious myth, technology, aliens, irradiated spiders, etc and let them battle it out. Not in this universe! Everything has to have a sound technological basis in scientific facts.
Midichlorians anyone? sigh... :?

Is Feige that much of a fucktard? If we can suspend our disbelief that a human can be frozen in ice for more than 50 years and survive intact and without brain damage, we can suspend our disbelief that gods exist in the same world as a billionaire who builds mechanical weaponized suits & a dude with daddy issues who turns into a 'roided up Shrek.

CDR! :laff:
Problems I had with the trailer:
It still looks & sounds like they are recycling 1981's Flash Gordon sets & costumes.
I could hear Hemsworth's aussie accent every time he spoke.
Every single bit of dialogue sounded so cheesey I needed crackers
It seems they are pushing S.H.I.E.L.D's involvement way too fuckin' hard.
No Donald Blake to trap him in and teach him humility is just wrongness.
CW is awfully small sizewise for the God Of Thunder.
Mjolnir looks like it's made of plastic
Done now.
More than ever I'm wishing they had gone with Kevin McKidd as Thor. He might have been able to save that movie with his commanding presence & acting chops. I predict even Hopkins won't be able to save this from Elektraville. Sigh.

I agree with everything you said there Jig. But you know most people aren't die hard Thor fans like Supes and Bats and Spidey have so alot of this shit won't even phase them unfortunately. So Marvel and Feige will get all kinds of praise put on them if this movie does moderately well and we may be in store for more "tech" heroes from Marvel in the future. What it kinda reminded me of was Tron with all the lights and shiny colors but Flash Gordon was a good call too.
I mean he's A GOD! That's the whole point of his being and to make him an advanced alien like being is so queer it goes completely against everything having to do with the character. I'm expecting Cap to be as bad or worse now too.
