I've learned from experience to Never Discuss Politics On The Web.
Tis an exercise in futility IMO, I almost broke my rule when I perceived that a non emotional serious intelligent discussion among adults was going on here, very unusual and refreshing, until that post, which made my blood boil.
Nothing but venom, innuendo and distortion of facts right out of the Kos/Huffington/Olbermann playbook. The 'I vote Republican' line was the icing on the cake.......... ;)

I said eloquently OR robotically as I did not know who had changed the guy's posts & it's usually a case of people not liking the way someone expresses themselves (typically not writing in the two mentioned examples)as a justification for doing dumb shit like changing other's words. You could have given him a warning for fuck's sake. If the fella's post(s) made him come across as a tool to others, then so be it. Most of us in this thread (& elsewhere in AF) know how to take each other. He obviously has not interacted with the AF community enough to know how to take us. Remember, some people come from other online climes where aggressive & abrassive is the norm. Especially in regards to poltically related subject matter. Some folks' overenthusiasm to contribute/impress or have their say leads them to say stupid things. It does not mean they are any less intelligent or informed.

Actually, I didn't think G-man's propaganda wing at first. I this morning was just having breakfast with a man who knows a number of survivors from world war II camps. i am thinking more of stormtroopers after that. but in that case, I at least see what you were taking about.

I also didn't mean to do it that way. I showed what i was trying. I was going to hit "reply", and hit "edit" instead. My intent was to add a code for a quote from him, and change the contents in that post, that would be under my name. I showed what this should look like. I didn't even notice I did it wrong until I had submitted. I couldn't fix it, and i had to go back to getting ready to move. What I intended to do was punt him in the shins, not erase his post. but honestly, when it was done, I didn't feel bad for it - because the post was empty presumptious recycled spite.

and, for the record, I am glad you love it here, cause you are one of the people I really like to hear from.

I am not a mod to abuse my power. I have never banned anyone. I don't make it a habit to crack people over the head at all. But this was not a policy here, nor a habit of any mod.

There ya go. I now see mistakes were made on both ends (& mine too, in regards to that harsh comparison). You've never struck me as one to abuse your mod power, nor anyone else since I've been here. That's part of what makes this joint great. I now return to watching you guys debate your cases like adults (you hearing me blix)up in here..

You know, we usually do have pretty mild discussions here about politics, but I think the general conception is that people are heated...I'm a political moron...I don't know shit about it...I try to talk about it from a common sense perspective, and have no notions of right, left, red, blue, or what the fuck...I think ALL politics has a veil of shit over it, but its going on and its big, so I like to chat about it...

I'm pretty sure nobody intended to offend anyone else...Especially raum, whom I've known personally for many years now...If you came in and slung a little shit, I'm equally as happy that you did it as much as I am raum wiping it out...We have forums built specifically for shit slinging...No joke...If you want to flame, we ENCOURAGE it...You can go to the flame forum and work your issues out with raum right now, 2 posts under your belt or 2,500 posts...

Rather than post off topic, especially angrily so, flame...But do it in the right place...You're a new guy, give us a few posts to get to know you, I'm sure you're not always so quick to fly off the handle...And if you have to do it by flaming, or we all head to the chatroom or WHATEVER, lets do it, and keep discussions, at least in this forum and VU, as civil and intelligent as possible...

They use that war hero crap over and over again to sell the guy...and it was a big part of his speach, as for his medals go ask for the naratives used in order for him to recieve them, they are bogus.....they also used his support for the surge and held it up as some political master stroke....and like I said any fuckwit knows that the US army can only achieve when it has mass numbers and even then sometimes they stuff it up.

I do believe she has used her special needs child for political purposes, and hell yeah thats easy to do when you got money and people to look after it.

And hell yeah i think her daughter wouldn't be pregnant if she had botherd to have an honest conversation about contraception with her....all this stuff relates to what she went on about in her speech, so still valid...if not to your taste.
