I've been meaning to address the numerous derailments that have occurred here, but this is very, very, very small community, so I just figured it didn't need to be pointed out, seeing as we all either see it or we don't.
Regarding your toss-up query of Stallworth in comparison to Vick: I think he doesn't need to be outright banned from the sport, as the crime was not intentional, but still wholly avoidable... though, it should dawn on Stallworth to just call that portion of his career quits. He should not opt to rejoin the league in any way, shape, or form. He can if he wants to, but the problem is that he should never want to be in the NFL again after what had happened to him.
Besides, he is not as much as an impact player, perhaps more on par as an average, or subpar player. Honestly, I can only recall Stallworth's best year as 2007, as the third receiver in Brady's "bombs-over-Baghdad" campaign to a "perfect" undefeated season. Considering that, and at the same time discarding it as an anomaly, I can't see why, how, or who would actually vye to have Donte rejoin the NFL; I don't even think Donte himself can sell why he would be an asset to any team.
T.O. thinks Goodell 'unfair' to Vick

Actually, DUDE, it does change EVERYTHING that you said. Having to hate someone requires effort. Just like there are different levels of anger there are different levels of dislike as you call it now. Fury or rage are the general highest levels of anger. Hate is the highest level of "dislike". I don't feel that way towards Vick. If I did I'd be attending every Eagles game with "Vick burn in Hell" signs around my body. I'm merely pointing out things that I do not like about him on a message board. That doesn't qualify as "hate".Drew wrote:Dude you can use the word hate or dislike, it doesn't change anything I said.
None of that matters. The subject line is negligible. How many times has the subject line of a news article caught your eye but had very little relation to the actual meat of the article? The subject line is merely there to draw your attention and not provide a summary of the article itself.Drew wrote:And it is not only completely possible for someone to hijack their own thread...but its happening right now
Look at the title of the topic....its about whether or not Goodell is being fair or unfair to Vick, and what the proper punishment should be for him....and that can extend to a greater discussion of how all commissioners can treat their players...
but instead you just keep posting links and saying things about why you dislike Vick... it is not adding to any discussion...you've made your point that you do not like him for various reasons....let's move this discussion forward.
What you need to think about is the TOPIC of a thread, which is obviously about Michael Vick, his dog fighting past and his NFL football career. That is what my thread is about and henceforth practically impossible for me to "hijack" my own thread.
Now, if I went off on a tangent about Michael Vick, say talking about his haircut or past girlfriends that wouldn't even be hijacking a thread. That would be called GOING OFF TOPIC. Not sure how long you've been on the internet learning forum or BB etiquette but I've been on since the days of 2400 baud. I would think that I would know how to post properly on a forum or BB by now.
For example, what you are doing here is merely attempting to provoke me...also known as TROLLING. You don't want to contribute to the thread or even Michael Vick's defense. You just want to provoke an argument with me. Not sure why but that is in fact TROLLING.
Quite the hypocrite, eh?Drew wrote:Do you guys think Donte Stallworth should be allowed to play in the NFL ever again?

.....is anyone else seeing this? Like seriously...
How am I being a hypocrite by bringing up a different player that is relevant to the discussion?
To IO,
I mean, I agree with you on the fact that the dude probably won't be able to join as an impact number 1 receiver...but there are some teams out there that can still use a receiver of even his caliber (not sure where he would rank exactly, but if Devin Hester is our--the Bears-- number one pass catcher...I think we could use a Stallworth type player, lol)
I'm just wondering more what you think the NFL sanctions against him should be. Currently he is suspended for the whole 2009 season. I'm a little unsure why his was a cut and dry single season and Vick's was indefinitely...
When he becomes eligible again, assuming there is no further ruling against him...he'll only be 29, he may have some years left in him.

Donte Stallworth was drunk driving in his Bentley and killed a man trying to get on a bus and go home from work...
Fuck him...He should be in jail for the rest of his fucking life, let alone banned from the NFL...That shit is atrocious to even think that the opportunity for him to make a 6 figure salary again will be made available...

Looks like I won't be buying Nike products ever again. This is good as my last pair of kicks were Reeboks anyway.
