Best action movie in a minute. if not an hour!

Synopsis: a young autistic half Thai/Japanese girl born from enforcers of two deadly rival gangs with ability to integrate martial arts she sees into whipping people to collecting her ailing mother's money she is still owed from her life of crime before her daughter was born. Oh, and by the director of Ong Bak.

Rating 12/5 - and she does all her own stunts! you see people really get hurt for their craft (eat that holly-wouldn't!), and it is watch instantly netflix on demand.

Jeeja Yanin is the best female ass-kicker I seen since Yeoh in her youth, and this is one of the best martial arts movies I seen. EVER! and the acting is damn good all-around.

Avengers
Image

IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0848228/

Synopsis: - A collection of other Marvel Comics movies rolled into one. We knew this was coming from the blatant clues in the Iron Man movies. In general this is an extension of the Thor movie as Loki, Thor's adopted brother, is the bad guy. He opens a portal to bring an army to earth to rule our world. The Avengers must stop him.

<-- Pros --> Casting was good except for the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo doesn't have a believable dark side. The story blended well with the other movies and added some characters for us to learn about. The affects were average in the technical sense but were well done and seamless throughout the movie. The one-liners and inter group quips are what made it for me. I'm sure I missed a few. They are strewn throughout the movie. Lots of good action.

<-- Cons --> None of the Marvel movies had enough character and story development except for Iron Man. The comics really took the time to develop a personality that the movies couldn't. Action and comedy were placed above story development on the priority list.

Rating: :D :D :D :| :(

C'mon, You've got to give it up to Joss Whedon for getting as many character moments in Avengers as he did? Especially considering he had 9 primary cast members to service inbetween balls-to-the-wall action. I do not think any other director could pull off that feat without sacrificing the action.

I do agree that with the exception of the original Iron Man, the other 4 Marvel movies prior to Avengers were found seriously wanting. Both the Cap & Thor movies cannot stand on their own legs as they are just glorified trailers for what was to come. Iron Man 2 had far too many cooks in the kitchen and gave Downey far too much leeway to ham it up. I disagree with you that Ruffalo was not dark enough as his Banner had evolved from the previous Hulk film(s). If you cast your mind back to Incredible Hulk, Banner as played by Norton, had his curse under control using meditation at it's ending.
