I think a young, pissed off Tyson could compete with Ali if he channeled his anger and didn't bite anything...As far as my credibility, I am not a hardcore fan like you but I have watched tons of fights on ESPN classic, especially frosh and soph years of high school...
I'm not proclaiming to be right though, I understand my logic may be unsound...Agree to disagree?

In any instance, let me clarify that this is all pure speculation...There is no right or wrong, so you're right, sound logic is what wins here...
Consider Mike Tyson...He is at best, 5'9", 5'10"...He fucking hit HARD...But he could not box, he could fight like a beast...
Ali was 6'3", 6'4"...With a reach of about 81" if I'm not mistaken...He was fast, fluid, and despite what the perception may be, powerful...
Mike Tyson, on a list done by boxing experts, was ranked in terms of punching power in the top 20...George Foreman was the first heavyweight on the list...
George Foreman is about the height of Ali, and probably the hardest puncher the division would ever see...
Watch any Ali fight, and you will probably be able to count the number of body punches he threw on one hand...His MO was a head hunter...So, consider that his opponents knew this...They knew that he was going to go for their head...Yet, they could not stop it...
Mike Tyson would have tried to go to the body, bullrush Ali....Just like Foreman...And just like Foreman, Ali would have frustrated the shit out of him...Mike Tyson's only option would be to try to be physical...But Mike never saw anyone as fast as Ali...Ali would have peppered Mike for 8 rounds, took his best body shots, and leveled him in the later rounds...

Let me just say, I would never bet against Tyson...no matter who he was fighting...Even though he would probably lose, I would never bet against him...

About the fight, i think Mike is generally a "lion", he uses his strength more than his head, he strikes hard but he lacks a head, to think or at least to control his temper

I dont see a single instance where you've defended your point with logic...the question isn't "who would you rather fight?"
it's who is the greatest boxer of all time.
And although I don't think Tyson would even make the final with Ali....lets say he would..and we'd decide the best by a matchup of the two...so it boils down to who would win in a fight...Ali or Tyson....and to say Tyson just because you wouldn't want to fight him....or because you think Ali would beat you down slower....has no bearing on the question at hand...
