Weed: Good or Bad for the Individual?

With 420 coming up I realized something, weed is not bad for you.
For years there has been controversy about marijuana. It started in the 30's when someone found that hemp was incredible easy to grow and a way better material to use than trees. With the future of all American timber industries on the line they had to act quick. They spread lies such as weed makes you kill people, it's as addictive as heroin, and you will go crazy when u smoke it and that you may also die. If you look around at the harmful effects of weed on the site FreeVibe.com you will see none of that. You should also notice it talks about weed and your brain and doesn't mention anywhere about weed killing brain cells. Oxygen can kill brain cells my friends. However the government spread these lies and thus banned marijuana. Here you can see a picture of cannibus prohibition poster. Govt Prohibition poster You all should know some of the posotive aspects. Pros- releases chemicle in your brain that when you have head trauma coat your barin cells protecting them from chemicals released by the dying cells. It is also the only cure for a disease called Fiber Malisia, in this disease your body eats away at the soft tissue and you are in chronic pain. Also weed helps with MS which has been proved by a doubled blinded study in Europe. Finally weed stimulates the mitocondria in you lungs helping the absorption of oxygen and offers treatment to asma patients. Cons- Memory loss.
Also you see these "above the influence commercials" showing teens deflated like balloons on the couch showing that you become lazy. This is also not true I frequently play sports as disc golf and basketball on weed. However you will get the munchies. Lol. Food just tastes soooo good. You can't stop yourself from eating it easily. As for driving, how many of you speed normally? Weed for the most part makes you a safer driver from my experiences. I drive slower and avaoid confrontations with lots of cars. All of my friends are much better drivers when they smoke. Whats so bad about having the giggles? And from a Christian standpoint God would want us to be happier with no harmful effects to the body. It's alll goodness.

Don't be fooled about Marijuana! Would the govt. legalize it for medical use if it was really that bad for you?

the largest danger of smoking weed is losing touch with your sense of your own principles, because you reside to "sneak" to do something that you have "to get away with". In a sense you have to act like a criminal, and face criminal persecution, to do something that you do not see as criminal activity. This historically leads to more criminal activity, and can get out of hand.

that is not to say it is violent activity, or that it "chemically" promotes criminal behavior...

but acting like a criminal does tend to make you more likely to normalize toward (at least mild) criminal activity.

and in that spiral, you can completely lose a sense of responsibility, and develop a sense of entitlement to where you think the world, govt., society, or any number of things in effect OWE you everything people have historically had to strive for.

this is called "entitlement mentality" and is observed greatly among those who do not reconcile themselves to their vices, what ever they may be.

Im sorry Raum but losing in touch with your sense of your own principles is hypothetical BS. If you remember a couple of years back some kids shot at cars with shotguns and they blamed GTA. That claim was as absurb as yours. People choose to do weed just as you choose to download illegal music. You can just as easily claim downloading illegal music promotes doing other crimes such as marijuana. You are just twisting words. You should be saying people who involve in any form of criminal activity are more inclined to smoke.
If you looked at free vibe it says, "Teens age 12 to 17 who smoke marijuana weekly are three times more likely than non-users to have thoughts about committing suicide." Free vibe really twisted the statistic, it should have read, "Teens age 12 to 17 who are three times more likely to have thoughts about committing suicide have smoked marijuana." Don't attempt to fool people into thinking weed is bad for you. Caffeine is worse for your body than weed!

Aemeth's friend;

you are confused.

I simply said "Engaging in ANY criminal activity, which you may feel should be legal, is likely to lead to further engagement in activity that you feel should be legal, even though it may be illegal. The greatest danger is it may and HAS led to people, essentially, feeling they have a right to self-government in several issues that have been established as judicially governed, and face sanctions or imprisonment."

i.e. the danger of acting like you are immune to the law is that the law might catch up with you.

and if you do not think your principals are capable of being compromised easier when your judgement is impaired by emotional states and chemical intake (including caffeine, and excess sugar), you are in denial. Your consciousness is CHANGED. that doesn't mean you do not lack discipline to resist those things that go against your principles, but if you have little discipline, you can get "out-of-character" for a minute. if fact, that is when the real test of self discipline happens.

Your examples are childish and accusative against statements I did not make. In general those statements are statements I disagree with. A kid who shoots a shotgun with GTA in mind is not playing the game.

But, if you want some REAL statements from me to measure; HERE.

Wow, dude must really wanna smoke some dro, this is the 2nd? topic you've started about weed..? LoL...

I've smoked my fair share of all kinds of shit, and the bottom line is that smoking is bad for you, period...Anything not done in moderation is bad for you, be it sigs, weed, ice water, or using a cell phone...I trust in the fact that when your time comes, it will come regardless, so while you're here, do what you want...

Its only illegal if you get caught... :tur:

{Sigh}...where do i begin...?

I do enjoy myself a doobie...every...fucking...night...................some of you know this...

why, you ask?

It makes my nightly serial killing sprees much more fun...

no...lol

I enjoy myself a doobie after my long day at work, i dont do it to feel like a criminal, or to think im getting away w/ something...

i do it because...it settles me down after crunching numbers all day...

i've been to jail for the shit 10 years ago...but that was because i was a dipshit kid with nothing to lose...smoking it in public for fuck's sake.

cop that busted me said..."dude, why are you doing it here in the park?...with kids runnin around here n' shit...i know the shit's no big deal...but, do it in YOUR backyard...we're not going to bust you there!"

so...thats what i do...

it doesn't give me criminal intentions and i dont feel like a criminal...because i dont think its wrong...

some people have a beer after work, some people wine...others a cigar...others...lap dances...

i smoke me a doobie...it is indeed my vice...

I still don't get smoking it,.. when it is a fine cooking herb.

don't believe me?

make some pasta, grab a jar of sauce, some chopped cooked chicken breast or ground beef.

simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally, and drop in the herb.. cover it and turn down the heat.

plate some pasta, lay on some meat, and smother in sauce.

eat watching japanese cartoons.

Pete, was church fun this weekend?'/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />' (jk)
