What's a good DVD Player?

I'm looking to buy a new DVD player. It seems my current one is garbage. I still can't get the DVDs to work. I went out today and bought a DVD Lens Cleaner. I've cleaned the damn thing 4 times now, and the DVDs still screw up, so I'm guessing my DVD player is on its way out. It's not even 2 years old yet. How sad is that?

Right now I have a DVD802-2 DVD Player, or at least that's what the manual says. lol The brand name is Magnasonic. I paid about $60-$70 for it.

If I were you I'd look at Denon and Pioneer. I own both and neither have given me any trouble. If you plan on purchasing either one of these look forward to spending anywhere between $300 US to $900 US. Rotel also makes a fine yet expensive DVD player.

Pioneers are great players.. I have one of those and also a Sony which has given me no problems whatsoever...

However as Nostromo said expect to pay upwards of $300..

I know you can get some pretty inexpensive ($80-$150) DVD players from Future Shop... I personally have never used one but I have buds who use it down at the frat house and they have no problems... so that might be another option...

goodluck dude!

Those $70 Conia DVD players from WOW Sight 'n' Sound aren't too bad, and despite the big Region 47 sticker, play Region 1 DVDs quite happily.....

I'm always scared that the high-speed drives on DVD-ROMs and CD-ROMs would scratch the DVDs and CDs...........

I'm not saying the cheap-arse DVD players are bad, I'm just saying they lack quality control..
I mean, even Aldi, Coles and Woolies are selling DVD players, and thats sad.. lol

You've got a point, but you can always manually lower the read speed on the drive via its driver settings..

I'd say something, but I don't really know the brand. But a) it's probably a major brand's DVD player simply re-branded with Majestic and /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> this is Italy you're talking about, you can't buy much shit electronics from there, cmon now.. lol
