i know there's probably an assload of shit on this guy all over the internet BUT how do you get physically fit like him? i tried to look up some of his workouts and i dont know what the hell some of the exercises are. this dude is so cut its fucking insane. i heard some things about him and muscle contractions?? i don't know? but it's something like how he can have such a small body but still be stronger than some larger dudes that are twice his size. is anyone interested or kind enough to share some thoughts?

Bruce was an amazing specimen no doubt...And I'm all but afraid that his teachings, and their true methods, are dead and buried with him...Bruce was so unique in his talents and abilities, JKD was perfectly suited for him; he could easily adapt to any style...As a practical martial art though, I think it is not possible for 'normal' people to practice it...

I have all of his movies, but strangely, I don't ever remember reading or hearing that much about his conditioning...

i found some sites that tell about his "workouts" and some exercise techniques but its just a description of what he did and not how (such as number of times during the week and how long he held out his arms using weights and all). can i post a link in this forum?

bioelectrical resistance

get a electric conduit flowing through your body, which causes your muscles to clench, and then you do sit ups, arm curls, leg squats, etc. the technique is now used by physical therapists in limbs with minor atrophy.

generally, you can get to a point where you are walking around with it on, and you can function, or you can do full practice routines.

some doctors oppose its usage due to the fact it may cause aneurisms.

we had a set in the house, after my stepdad's leg surgery, and I used it. powerful stuff until
i got so sick I couldn't eat for a week, and started having migraines.

now, i still use natural resistance,.. but no outside generated electricity. i learned five thunder technique, which releases bursts of biochemical electricity. i can work in my routine and quickly shape up. five thundaer technique is a Taoist technique that was not taught off of mount omei until well after Bruce Lee was dead.

Jet Li is a Master of the Technique I study (and use), and his virtuous Self uses it extensively in The One to defeat the Destructive Self that is condemned to the eternal conflict that he saw as the key to his power.

It is part of Ba Gua Chuan Kuo Tu Omei, a Chinese Martial Art specifically designed to attune one to the Eight Ineffable States (Ba Wu Yao) which represent the eight corners of the Cube of the Universe, that bind the six sides together, and the Eight components of the Body of Light, which revolve around the Dan Tien (the "two points below your navel" point you always hear about). Each of the Meridians Mei Feng that Chi runs to the rest of the body through are connected to one of these nodes of power on the body.

bruce lee supposedly jogged for miles wearing a battery pack set for hundreds of pounds, while practicing with numchuku and other weapons. it is most likely he used Cocaine to amp up, and opium to calm down. and some people still do that.

you will not live long if you do this, and not even meditation will completely erase the damage you can do to your internal organs, if you are careless or have a mishap, or worse, get addicted.

In all things, and throughout every change, the Tao is evident to those who adhere to the truth at the core of their being.

hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

natural resistance.. is there any others besides five thunder technique? is that actually a skill that takes a while to learn or can learn by reading directions? and by natural resistance do you mean like leg weights or something? also did he have something called an iron fist? everytime i do a search on iron fist the comic shows up and nothing (well if it really is called iron fist) related usually shows up.

5 thunders is not taught lightly, and most who teach it do not believe just anyone can learn it. Thus some have taught it, and i have seen parts of it in books.

the mystery of the 5 thunders (wu xing chen) is that is it a secret word,.. written with the character for Thunder five times.

Fotr example, if you write the character Thunder three times, it means "The roar of the Thunder"

Thus it is not "about Five thunders",.. but rather it is about something that has to do with thunder.

I am not supposed to tell you what it means, but I can provide a hint.

It could be said to mean "hitting with the hand that claps and makes thunder."

the wu xing chen is one of the mysteries of the power of Chi sacred to the fire school of Taoism, specifically those who have had their names burned up to the dragon (those who have sacrificed their base identity to become vessels of the immortal Self the ego clouds).

and now for the legend:
One who is the victim of a full attack of the five thunders is said to be hit with all the power of the bloodline of the emperors of the Yellow Kingdom. it is for that reason that if you attack someone with it full force, it will kill you as well, unless you be of royal blood, or so it is said. (and yes this is a metaphor)

as far as teaching it or learning it from a book, the 64 secret songs are publicly sang and rarely understood. translations of them do little to reinforce the Chi, for most of the meaning is lost.

in huk kung, it is not "Iron Fist",.. rather the word for "Iron" and the word for "fist" form the word zhang jin, which roughy means "Invincible Palm which can hold great fire and not be made formless" (i.e. not melt)"

The comic book came about when martial arts became popular, and no one here knew chinese. they just took the term for "Qi kung jin zhang" (Spirit Fist Iron Palm) and made the decision to make "Iron fist" his name,.. and fit well into the western ideas of power.. and then they took liberally from the stories of parcival and The magic flute to make a stroy of initiation after personal mishap that imbued a protagonist with a great power and a ethnic sidekick who would be his superior, were it not for this great gift. (my opinion, from studying western opera and eastern martial arts)

look up iron palm and you can find some stuff, be discriminating. it has become a buzz word.

here is a overview of my study, of which "Iron Palm" is a part of the exercise and discipline http://home.comcast.net/~baguazhang/bagua.html

(but this is not from my xi fu, nor my school, who do not have a website. Jian Chang from Taiwan, who flew here to meet me, if you are curious.)
