FEMA hurricane cards bought jewelry, erotica
"The GAO uncovered records showing that $1,000 from a FEMA debit card went to a Houston divorce lawyer; $600 was spent in a strip club and $400 was spent on "adult erotica products," all of which auditors concluded were "not necessary to satisfy legitimate disaster needs.""
lmao I laughed throughout this article... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Ridiculous...

If the government hadn't given the money in the first place, the same people would be bitching that it wasn't given out. Damned if you do and Damned if you don't.

Exactly, you try to help out some people in need and they don't even give a shit. It's really sad....

most of the people in new orleans don't have a very clear sense of necessity. to say the least.
but most of the people who took advantage of this were no where near new orleans when katrina hit.

sure, and everyone will blame George W. Bush even though it was Jimmy Carter who created FEMA, and Bill Clinton who made signing up for relief as easy as calling an automated 1-800 number.

I'm still pissed he gave back the Canal zone, it was a great place to party. Jimmy Carter was a worthless President and he continues his worthless ways to this day.

Well, considering they were discussing getting Mardi Grais under way shortly after Katrina hit, I'd have to agree. I remember reading the article, thinking, "Isn't your city still submerged?" lol

That's why that sucks :x . Only those directly affected should be supported.
I'm grateful the only devastation my local area has experienced, is the physical damage by the cyclone itself. Although alot of people are numb and depressed, they are holding together and getting on with things, cleaning up the place and rebuilding life, not spiralling into disarray and abuse.
