I absolutely think nuke is NOT the way to go, until we figure out cold fusion.

the byproducts are way too accessible and destructive. and they don't go away. so the storage facilities and costs alone will force the price of energy up.

the price of coal is some 3-4 dollars per megawatt. nuclear is six dollars, hydro is about $2.62.

That is with less than 20% of the grid served by nuke,.. with nuke serving more, the price goes up. when you hear nuke is cheap, that is when it was generated independent from the grid, and before the fuel became waste that needed to be dealt with. As it is, the estimated costs of nuclear disposal are about 10 years out of date. if the grid goes nuke, expect to pay more for your power as 130% more in some areas, and to have a nuclear farm that spans from sea to sea.

those that do not have nuke plants, will have disposal sites, or fuel storage areas, or fall out shelters. we would be a sitting duck of a country.

more than 9,000 scientists disagree with the Kyoto Treaty.
