What the hell? It is two weeks into the best bike race of the summer and no one's talking about it. Has anyone been watching the tour? This is the only time all year that I wake up before 8:00am. Tomorrow is going to be the best day yet in this year's tour. There have been many awful crashes, some heroic rides, and the field is still wide open. I can't wait to see who will win since Lance retired and many big names out of the tour for doping!

I don't think the public is really interested in bike racing. It was only on people's minds for a while because of the inspirational story of Lance Armstrong..and the incredible feat of winning it as many times as he did. Now that he isn't in it....I have a feeling most casual fans will be like "who cares?"
I know I couldn't really care less lol. Everyone enjoys watching greatness...and that's what the draw was when Lance was still in it....but now that he's gone..... ::turns the channel::

I agree with LG. Lance beat cancer and won how many tours, 7? He was making history. As far as I know, no one is making history this year so... meh. I think it'll be a looong time before even comes close to beating his record.

I'm not really that interested in the Tour. I never was interested when Lance raced either. Sure I'd turn on ESPNEWS to see how he was doing but I never actually watched it

Well, even though no one cares...
Here is an update from the tour. Pretty amazing day with an American, Floyd Landis, looking like he was invincible. Landis has worn the yellow jersey twice in this tour but he looked horrible yesterday on a hard day of riding in the Alps. Today he attacked on the first of three very difficult climbs, and held on to win his first ever stage in the tour. He is now just :30 behind Oscar Pereiro. Landis should be able to take back the over all lead Saturday in the individual time trial, as he beat Pereiro in the time trial last week by over one minute. He has done all of this on a bad hip, which he will have replaced later this year, in what could be a career ending surgery.
