Ga. Peaches touted as future fuel source

What is there, if any, the downside to using alternative fuels such as ethanol in vehicles..? Is it a performance hit of some kind or something..? I simply can't figure out why this has been done years ago...

Oil companies, that's why. We have more oil in Nevada and Colorado than the Middle East, only problem is, it's oil shale. It costs alot more to process oil from shale. If fuel costs get much higher, drawing oil from shale will become the norm. It's time to take the record profits and put it to use.
