relentless energy drink..

Coca Cola's latest offering is an attempt to give perennial wing-giving energy drink Red Bull the elbow.
It would appear that Coca-cola are targetting a slightly younger demographic, with a penchant for late nights and caffeine-fuelled binges - the Relentless can is twice the size of a Red Bull can, giving a proportional increase in caffeine. Drinking one of these certainly does make you feel noticably more alert! (or at least, more twitchy).
The drink itself is a shade more green than Red Bull, although there's little difference. Taste-wise, it's a similar story - this is clealrly an unashamed attempt to copy Red Bull as closely as possible, so the flavour is all but indistinguishable. If I were forced to make a distinction, I'd say Relentless was a little sweeter and a touch more syrupy than its rival.
All in all, Relentless does exactly what it says on the can - it provides a caffeine hit without many parallels in a sweet carbonated energy drink. The market for this sort of thing is already very competitive, but with the larger 500ml can and competitive pricing we'll see if Relentless can make a dent in the other energy drink sales.
good points
Quite simply, this is one big caffeine hit - equivalent to around two cups of coffee!
At 500ml, there's plenty - so you don't feel like you're being ripped off.
It's quite refreshing
The cool gothic-esque 'relentless' logotype. Never mind the bullshit slogans.
bad points
It doesn't offer much new in the taste department - if you've tried Red Bull and you hated that, there's not much to love here.
It has a worryingly green tinge - although it retains much of the piss-yellow colour of other energy drinks.
