It's a damn good thing I am retired now and can't be recalled back for when we decide to deal with Iran. The problem is that we have, for too long, ignored these nut cases running countries like North Korea and Iran so that we can worry about other less important nut cases.

Good job for Kim Jung Ill for insuring that his people win the fight against obesity!!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

The problem with Korea is we are now past the breaking point with them.

I already have to use my pimp cane and even my "isn't this pathetic" walker. The VA a real good job enusring that I never felt like I was only 27.

Damn, how disabled are you? what happened? PM me about it, if you don't want it all out there. You clearly had a worse of it than I.

beyond the capacity to serve, I commend your willingness to sacrifice.

We landed in Afghan on Sept. 12th, 2001. After about 2 months we had to them do a drop in Iraq and on when I landed I broke my leg in 2 places. Since we had no back-up, I had to walk 7 miles to the checkpoint and then splint it up and continue on with the mission. It was about 3 weeks before I got it reset and casted. Then, I had to have surgery on it at the VA here in Albuquerque and they fucked it up even worse by cutting the MCL and breaking the blade on the initial cut. Dumb ass government doctors.

I was awarded the Bronze Star for that service. I don't mind doing what I did... I made a choice and I stick by that choice. I would rather have it be me that was hurt instead of your child that gets hurt from these morons.

There is no way this country could afford a draft... financially or politically. It will not happen unless we get into some kind of crazy World War again. The problem we really have is that our forces are spread way toothin at the moment. We are the worlds police and the world hates us for it. They aren't bitching when we give them billions of dollars and millions of tons of food and supplies, but they don't want us for anything else.

I don't think we should other contries a damn nickle as long as there is even 1 person here in America that is hungry. How can we in good mind give to others what we can't/won't give to our own people?

I completely concur. a draft will only ensue if the infrastructure is already compromised.

besides, our next large war will include a home front... and we will need the unregulated militia that has been all but smothered with legislation.

Yes... thats what the constitution said... the right for to bear arms was for militia. We are trying to fix the world and the world hates us for it. I say screw them... we can just come back home, put up a damn 40 foot high wall around the country and let them kill each other over there if they want. They have been fighting for 2000 years... 5 ain't going to fix it and neither is George Bush.
