outside of the gospels, and the apocryphal gospels, is there any solid evidence for the events as depicted in the new testament? is jesus's existence chronicled anywhere? did his life and death have any obvious effect on history seen from a purely accademic perspective? are there contemorary accounts of the miracles or the sermons mentioned in the gospels?

Buddha knew there was a Jesus Christ. A fair amount of religions recognise his existence.

There's also the missing link that Jeshua actually visited Scotland.....

Of course there is... didn't you see Passion of Christ? Proof positive!!!

For real... religion is all about faith. Any religion in any society is completely and totally based on faith. The bible has ben writtenand rewritten so many freaking times that in all honesty, there is no telling what the original copy ACTUALLY said.

Ever play the telephone game where you start with one person and one phrase, ahve them go around the room telling the person next to them. Then, at the end, you see what the last person has for the phrase. It is NEVER exactly the same as what you began with. Thats in 1-2 minutes.... imagine 2000 years and countless language changes.

Skinner said the teachers will crack any minute, purple monkey dishwasher... lol

Jesus did exist. I believe the Jews also recognize him, just not as the Mesiah. As for what happened in the Bible... I think Ruff nailed it on the head. The true story, I think, has been lost.

I think it was in grade 10 religion, my teacher actually told that what's in the Bible isn't meant to be taken literally. She said it was a book of faith... each story has a moral.

It is hard to get the true story about what happened in Vietnam, can we really expect to get a truthful and unbias story when it comes to religion?
