It amazes me... the story is always the same... some asshat throws away his ticket, and then when someone else finds it and cashes it, the asshat sues.

The same thing happened with the last Roll Up The Rim contest with Tim Horton's. Some guy threw away his winning cup. I think he was a teacher, and one of his students grabbed it and brought it home to show his parents, and of course after that there was a huge battle...

It was his mistake to throw it away...no judge should rule in his favor

maybe im just horrible but i thought the best part of the article was the dude dying of a heart attack after he lost the court case to get his winning ticket back.

that's fucked that these dumbasses keep sueing ppl and actually winning....

these judges have no fucken sense themselves.....

i heard a trainee referee for a basketball match won like 200k in compensation cos when she was being trained, no1 said to her if u run backwards u can fall over n hurt urself....

so wat happens.... she refs a kiddies game, runs backwards n falls over n breaks her leg... but the judge says its the associations fault for not telling her if u dont look where ur running by running backwards, u mite fall over....

I would have told him to fuck off. He threw it away and now he wants it back. Whats to keep someone from coming back and saying that THEY threw away something that is now valueble and they want it back? Wait, THAT JUST HAPPENED.

The problem is these liberal judges who keep letting these crazy and stupid lawsuites go to trial and sitting there for a week listening to this stupid shit.

Yup. It's sad that the guy is 83 years old and doesn't feel like he can invest the time to fight this. Of course, he'd have to hire a lawyer and spend more money (that he obviously doesn't have) to get what should be rightfully his. Sorry, but if I accidentally threw away a winning lottery ticket I'd be kicking my ass, but it wouldn't cross my mind to sue whoever found it. Damn!!!

I would talk to the person and see if they would cut me in since it WAS mine. You never know... maybe they will. They got it for free, so theyare out nothing even if they split it with you 50-50. They are STILL 50% richer than they were yesterday.

The sad thing is I bet if he hadn't agreed to a settlement, the family would have kept it going until he did die...
