Creating a website

So, a good friend of mine is looking to create a website. He basically wants a site where he can make entries about what's going on in his life, and people can leave comments, and they chat with each other etc.
He's never done anything like this before, so I told him I'd look into it for him. Right now he said he's thinking of going with GoDaddy.
Are they any good, or is there something better out there?

Why not just use a Yahoo or MSN free web hosting wervice? The friend could also use My Space to create a blog.

I knew you'd say that, Ja. Just one question... are you more reliable than the people who host the G-Spot? LOL /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I kid, I kid.
What kind of services do you provide? The two most important things are reliability and price. He'll be going to school in Montreal come Sept. He'll also be living on his own... kinda. He'll be with his girlfriend. So, he won't have a lot of extra cash to blow.

Cheapest plan I got is 10 bucks a month...For that, he gets plenty of space and all the expert help he can get...I can help him set up a wordpress site like the one on ayhja.us, and he'll get just what he wanted...This server has been up going on 2 months, and I don't recall any downtime recently...The only downtime I experienced was when I rebooted the server to fix the time...
I can reg him a domain name and have is account up in 24 hrs...

That doesn't sound too bad, Ja. I'll be stopping by his house tomorrow evening, so I'll run it by him, see what he thinks.
