UK network to do fictional Bush assassination film
QUOTEPromotional materials described the program as "a thought-provoking critique of the contemporary U.S. political landscape."
In other words... I don't like Bush so I'm going to create a show in which he's assassinated.

kramer, age 20, a guy who has told me before not to take words of the title so seriously, who has "flamed" me (we discussed about it in the flame thread) before because of me doing this...
and again...
kramer, this is not "britisch humour". it is "british sensational press". the cnn article you posted says so as well: Channel 4, which is publicly owned but funded by advertising, was criticized last week by outgoing ITV Chief Executive Charles Allen for its reliance on reality TV shows and "shock docs."[/]
Mind the two last words there: this is not humour, it is "shock value" which counts here. they succeed and they score. tell me you do not have that in the states?!
as for me: the program will do exactly that. so it meets its intended audience. business coupled with freedom of speech. a free market liberal democracy it is then. oh well. will I see it? probably not. would I like to? no. I do not like sensation for sensation's sake. it numbs me.

Sorry to inform you, Brains, male, 35, resident of Belgium, but you took the title literally. I was being an ass.

Nice try guys, but unfortunately this is likely to be a classic example of media directed propaganda.
At the moment the Syrians are supporting what is seen by the Bush administration as a "terrorist" group, Hamas/Hezbollah.
This is an ideal opportunity for the Media to start showing Docudramas that put a currently uncharged/unconvicted nation into the role of villain. This way when some political oaf decides it's time to stir up trouble again (usually for the sake of their ratings) they have a ready-made "enemy" that the public have been brainwashed into accepting as the next necessary target.
I still find it difficult to understand why we vote these mental midgets into positions of "power" and then let them drop us in the shit. I'm not an anarchist, but I do believe in the voice of the people, and that our so called leaders should listen.
Rant over.
