From Software released demos for the game on both the PS3 and the XBox360.

Watch, look, compare,.. see if there is one better than the other.

I think it clearly shows that the only difference that really matters is price, and the quality of your designers and programmers.

btw, since the PS-One, Armored Core has rocked beyond any other custom robot game.

well. i think the ps3 shows more detail, more impressive particle effects and better lighting... but the trailers date from last year anyway, so I guess comparing the two consoles will need other amunition... Oblivion maybe? RE5?! I'll hold off a definite verdict and not base that on the Armored Core movies linked there.

I personally like the xBox 360's a lot better. They have sweet graphics and games and I just love them

Josh Robinson agreed with you and me, trashtalkr, then sony fired him when he said so.

when one of the big ups on the ps3 project says "xbox 360 is better", and gets canned for it... you know something is up.

he compared ps3 testing in the lab with his xbox360 at home, everyday for months.

he simply was not sold on the ps3, and he helped BUILD IT.

btw, I know someone uppy-up in a videogame retail corporation who went to a private demonstration for the PS3, and got to play some games: Assassin's Creed, Resistance, Heavenly Sword, *some fighting game*, *a racing game* and maybe another.

of all of the games she got to play, the only one exclusive to the PS3, she enjoyed was Heavenly Sword, which she said is not exactly like God of War. She also has a certain weakness for Ray-Man.

the controller was aggravating, and the PS3 was hooked up to a computer, which Sony said was for diagnostics. But the people at the demonstration couldn't help but suspect the PS3 graphics was actually being run through the computer for higher graphic quality than anyone with a TV setup could rightfully expect.

anyways, they said the image is great, the play is *meh*, and Assassin's Creed was the Belle of the Ball.

to her, the wii was far more fun, and she said it gets her highest reccomendation. "Hold off on buying a few average games on the X-box, and buy a wii."

raum: Josh Robinson is a 3D artist. Hardly a guy who knows the ins and outs of a console. I can not deny the quote you gave for Assassin's Creed. I see it as one man's opinion. There are a lot of others who seem to be thinking the PS3 is more powerful.

Here's one of EA Sports:
QUOTESpeaking of taking advantage of the PS3's power, the team has been using the computational power of the system to enhance a large number of the standard features that the game is known for. For instance, the cloth physics of jerseys and shorts has been assigned to one SPU on the PS3 instead of multiple cores on the 360 so that it can move more realistically than ever without taking away processing power for the rest of the game.

...

Visually, the game has been taken up to a new level, particularly in how the game action is rendered. Not only have the in-game visuals been beefed up thanks to the power of the system, but according to Thomas, the way the PS3 renders pixels gives the game a richer appearance than the 360 version. It looks much more organic and lifelike, and if you thought you were watching a real game on the 360, just wait till you see it on the PS3.

or Teramoto on Ridge Racer and why they decided to make a version 7:
QUOTEThe magazine first asked Teramoto to explain the differences between the Xbox 360's Ridge Racer 6 and the PS3'd Ridge Racer 7. The development staff is for the most part the same for both games, Teramoto noted. "When actually getting our hands on the PS3 hardware," he explained, "as we gained a deeper understanding of what things we could realize, it was clear that we could appreciate something different from 6." It was with this realization that the team decided to make a new entry in the series.

Teramoto and crew believe that the Cell and RSX chips give them the chance to achieve a "Feeling of Ridge Racer" better than they were able to in Ridge Racer 6. This includes a "refreshing" sensation of speed.

The PS3's power could be used for realistic physics, but that wouldn't be very Ridge Racer, explained Teramoto. "The PS3's power will be used for various effects, and things that take place both on and around the course. If we use the Cell's computational power for these areas, we believe we'll be able to make a Ridge Racer like never before."
(both from IGN)

Anyhows. It's the games that count and I like PS games: Ico, Shadow of The Colossus, Okami etc. Games I have not frequently seen on X or 360.

BTW: the console being hooked up to the computer?! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> strange that... they clearly are being produced now and do not have any problem at all (like with overheating) when used in a "normal" environment - that is not in an enclosed case and with normal temperatures.... and they seem to be dead-quiet too, much unlike MS's offering.

i never said it won't run alone,..

she said they were playing, and it was hooked up to a computer, and it was suspicious. and she said it seemed as though it was for extra graphic processing.

i wasn't there.

I just know 600 bucks (pre-tax!) is too much for me to pay for a video game system, especially when I have a great set of them already, including a VERY powerful 360, which has some great games, and loads more on the way.

if you got the itch to get one, and the scratch to cover it, dig them nails in. me, I got better things to do with my money.

Yea, $600 is way to much to pay for it. I love the 360 and even if Sony lowered their price to match xBox's I still wouldn't get it
