panera is fucking stupid enough to try and call a burrito joint a "sandwich joint." what the fuck. whenever i went to somewhere like um, lets say SUBWAY, when i ask for a wrap they dont bring out two buns.

well cant hate on panera cause they have some kickass sandwiches though.

I agree, it's not really sandwich. It pisses me off also when I hear McDonalds call their micro-sized hamburgers, "sandwiches". Big enough to put on a cocktail stick, lol.

Yet, a pizza is an open sandwich. I guess, if you got a big piece of round bread, put in the filling, and rolled up the sides, it's a kind of sandwich?

Well, actually not.

John Montague, the Earl of Sandwich, was such a heavy gambler that he couldn't even stop for lunch. So he called his butler to bring two pieces of bread and some slices of ham. He placed the ham between the two pieces of bread, and ate what he called his "sandwich".

There ya go! Technically, and sandwich is "two pieces of bread incasing a filling".

Not a rolled up piece of flatbread!

Not a flat piece of bread baked in the oven!

NOT a hamburger!
