Ok, Luv, follow this:

Michael Richards played the character Kramer on Seinfeld. Now the show is dead, he is doing standup to keep from being bored counting his money or something. He was doing a show and a group was heckling him and talking amongst themselves, prolly cause he's not funny.

So he went off on them to shut up, and one of the guys called him a "whiteboy" and he went off on the guys, calling them racial epithets a person of my skin tone can't repeat, and reminding them fifty years ago he could have had them beat and sodomized with farming tools. Then one of the guys responded and called him a "cracker." So he went OFF cause they still wouldn't shut up. The juicy bits are on youtube.

Anyways, some whack ambulance chasing civil liberties lawyer is milking this situation, and two of the four boys are *DEEPLY* traumatized. They now claim to have actually feared for their life, well away from the stage a group of eight guys on a balcony, and are emotionally scarred for life as they were big fans of the character Kramer. They also essentialy claim to havew grown up somewhere that they had NEVER used nor heard the word "Knicker" used by themselves friends or family, and this has added to the anguish in ways that can only be measured in dollar signs, but apparently the word "Cracker" as a whord for whites just kinda flows off the tongue naturally. The only solution, naturally, is to get a retired judge to advise how Michael Richards should compensate them for this anguish and pain. I guess the best band-aids for a bruised ego have Benjamin Franklin on them.

My comment: I saw these men on TV, they are tryin to get paid. The Lawyer is scum. She has these guys so they are not willing to name a dollar amount, and insist Richards apologize and agree to let them have a retired judge advise him how to compensate them.

My ruling:

The boys: ca-ching! we gettin Kramer's money... and these boys got a lawyer, and they are letting her tell them what to do to get the most money and communicate how horribly their lives were damaged by his hurtful words.

The lawyer: the scum has gotten so old and fat off her ill-gotten and rotten gains that she can't chase ambulances anymore. so she has these boys in pocket and will get a good bit of Kramer's money.

Michael Richards: Dude got temper and issues. Never thought he was funny, and he looks like he eats small animals alive with that crazy ass look. He was not in the right and he did broadly apologize for any offense, but only after the video made the internet. He is frustrated that he was on the biggest show in TV history and was a star character, and now his career is dead, and he can't even get a little respect on the stage.

My personal feelings:

THIS IS BULLSHIT. Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Redd Fox, George Carlin, Robin Williams, Chris Rock... Dave Chapelle, Cheech Marin, Carlos Mencia.

Mel Brooks, hell, Blazing Saddles ALONE. All of this is offensive. We have made offensive comedy into a NATIONAL INSTITUTION. I personally don't want my comedy sanitized for fear of paying off the people in the audience who might be offended. That mic is the talking stick, and if you don't like it, leave and get your refund.

If you go to a comedy club, and the guy on stage calls you out and starts roasting you cause you won't shut up or leave, you don't sue him, at most you settle on a dollar amount. and when you are on the news, you don't portray yourself as a victim scarred for life like a little punk. Being insulted is one thing, insulting yourself is another. There is a way you can get paid for being humiliated by a very influential person, and in a hurtful way, but you can settle this with his agent, and not bring it before a retired judge, like it was a civil infringement.

and still, the only kramer I ever liked was the canuck on this forum..

If Michael Richards needs someone to plead his case, you would certainly do an admirable job.

Brings up the whole topic of reverse discrimination... Do you believe it exists and if so, is it justafiable or just as bad?

I've listened to Chris Rock...but after careful consideration, and against my lawyer's recomendations, decided not to sue....
...but then again - it could be that I viewed his comments as satirical and self-depreciating and not directed at me personally...

Haha. Reminds me of Edina Monsoon at some hippie gathering- "Stick, stick"

I still like Kramer, even though I think he was wrong for being racist to those hecklers. I do though support him for heckling. And those sooks should grow up, all this shit about being scarred and scared, it's just milking Mike's Seinfeld DVD income.

Here's my problem with the whole thing...

I don't care that he's racist...Shit man, there are racist people ALLLL around me...

What I DO care about, is that instead of just being who they are, racist people hide...Like they're ashamed of being hateful pricks...Shit man, if you're racist, that's awesome..! But have the fucking balls to be racist, or change your wicked ways...

Now this guy, he's running around saying he's sorry, mingling with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton looking for them to validate his ridiculous rant...What he said, what he did, it was not part of his act...I've never seen any comedian, black or white, start to insult people of the crowd in that manner...How ridiculous...

And a key thing...In his little rant full of racial slurs and bullshit, he didn't say, they would have strung you up...

He said, "We..."

Heres my take..I agree with raum about how jokes about race are a huge part of our culture and people constantly push this stuff to new levels. Combine that with the out of control shock facter stuff that goes on in radio and cable now. I cant watch more than 5 minutes of one of those comedy roasts on comedy central and howard stern is nothing but shock. All the people raum metioned have done a good job of it cause they have talent. The problem with Richards is he's not a stand up comic. He probobly sucks at it . On top of that he doesnt know how to handle things when they go wrong. Im not sure wether the guy really believes what he said or just panicked and didnt stop to think where comedy ends and racest slurs begin. When you make one word so powerful, weak people will use it as a weapon just to try to get the upper hand. On the other hand the part about the use of farming tools was too descriptive and ayhja makes a good point when he points out the use of the word ..(we).. being used instead of .(.they) .That makes it more personal as opposed to the past. Wether hes a racest or just in over his head he needs help. Im not sure wether its anger manegment , race relations , or stand up comedy. He should stick to charecter acting. As for the money being asked for thats the price you pay for being rich and an ass.
