Lets just assume that I'm not a moron, but rather than I'm a trained tech trying to make sure I've covered all the angles.......................

1. I'd check the wiring on the power switch to make sure it is not shorting out somewhere.
2. Resetting the BIOS to failsafe defaults.
3. Check the integrity of the power supply, If it is underpowered it would probably cut out as the different components start to initialize.
4. Does the OS start to load at all? If all the above check out normal, boot from a Knoppix CD and check the boot.ini file along with ntldr ntdetect.com io.sys config.sys files in the root directory of your system drive.

Have you changed anything lately - configuration-wise?
