Does anyone know of a good tutorial for Excel?

I was just in the program screwing around and realized just how little I knew about it. lol I don't think I've really used it since about grade 10 or grade 11, which was... 6 or 7 years ago. lol

I can use Word and PowerPoint, but Excel... that's something else. lol

I'm still using 2000. I'd like to upgrade to 2003, but can't find a download for it, and I refuse to download 2007 because I've heard nothing be bad things about it. lol

Anyway. A tutorial would be great. I tried Google but didn't really find anything I liked...

Raum's the Excel expert, so, I'm sure he could guide you in the right direction, tutorial-wise..
Though, I'm sure someone could get you Excel for Dummies also.. lol

I found a decent tutorial on a Microsoft website, but it had a lot of math information (obviously). I'm not really interested in formulas and that, though. I'm interested in other features, like maybe splitting a cell, which apparently you can't do.

I found out how you could merge cells and then un-merge them, but I found nothing for splitting cells.

In 181 E-Books "For Dummies" thread there are two .pdf files on Excell. I don't know if they are any good of if the link is still good, but it's a place to start.

For me, the best way to learn is to just play around with the app (you've done that a bit), and read the help file only when I'm completely stuck.. lol

Complex multimedia applications are probably the only type that require a tutorial or training video for me..

If you are playing with it, and can't find how to do something, keep trying and going around ALL the menus - you'd be surprised what you find, you might also remember where something is when you find you need to use it later..

What do you mean splitting a cell? I can prolly work something out close, but if you give me an example, it will help me be more specific.

What about 2007 don't you like Homez..? Shit I'm used to it now, works like a charm...I do have 2003 around here somewhere, but you'd just as soon use Open Office...I can probably find links for 2003 if you want it, but the 2007 is where its at..!

Well, I've spoken to a few friends of mine who are knowledgeable about this stuff (Dustin being one of them), and they've all told me the same thing, 2007 isn't that great, 2003 is better. lol

Raum, when I mentioned splitting cells I meant how you split cells in Word. You highlight the cell, click Table, Split Cells, type in the desired numbers, and then hit Ok.

Apparently you can't do that in Excel, or at least I haven't figured out how. It's not a big issue, I just thought it was odd. I actually solved my problem by making several of the columns text only.
