I've been in my new house almost a month, and its a huge ass upgrade from my small ass, 800 sq ft 2 BR apartment...

Where I am now is two stories, 3 BR/BT, and to the delight of the asthmatic, hardwood floors throughout...Thing is, I have no idea what i can use to clean them...Currently a bit of a vacuum enthusiast, the Hoover w/the HEPA filter is out of the question...

Anybody here w/some hardwood experience..?

are they in pretty good shape or could they use another coat of polyurethane? There is some cleaner made specifically for hardwood floors, has the word Orange or some derivative in the name of the product. I use that for cleaning up stains or water spots etc. For routine tidying, just use a swiffer to pick up the dust, hair lint etc etc.

Yes, the house is pretty new, only one other tennant before us...The floors are in good shape, I was just curious to know what to use to do basic tidying up, cause a broom is useless as dust just falls in the cracks...And the only thing I could think of was those dust mops they use to clean basketball courts, lol...

I think I'll go and grab one of those Swiffer deals tomorrow and see what's up...

Take a broom to gather up all the dust and crap on the floors. Then you can use a proper hardwood cleaner/shiner and take a moist microfibre mop dealy and get into it. And if you want to get into it even more take a microfibre cloth and go to town on your hands and knees.

We always just use swiffers as well... course I come from a family that isn't really big on cleaning... lol

Hoover has a good wet/dry vac that we use for our tile and hardwood floors- it is a bit pricey but works phenom IMHO
