Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby, Don Newcombe, Mudcat Grant, Vic Power, Pumpsie Green and Earl Wilson

Branch Rickey, Bill Veeck, Danny Murtaugh (who almost fought a fan in Asheville, N.C. who objected to his making out an all-minority lineup for an exhibition game), Pee Wee Reese, Ted Williams

GO check these inspirational men out....

Did you know??

Red Sox management refused to accept a deal their scout had reached with Willie Mays because of Mays skin color (Imagine Ted Williams alongside Willie Mays) -- maybe the curse wasnt 'cuz of the Bambino afterall??

The other good thing is Willis, Sabbathia, Cameron, Hudson, Floyd, Hunter, Pierre (just to name a few) become role models for African Americans (as well as ALL children)- nice to see my Favorite Pro sport league showing a good example to our youth (regardless of BBonds) and showing up the thugs, criminals and ill reputes of the NBA, NHL and especially the NFL

I don't know about all that now.....and I'm not disputing anything good you said...everyone you mentioned deserved credit and I give them all praise.

I just don't think its fair to hate on those sports because theres a few PacMan Jones's runnin' around.

The NFL is by far the most charitable organization around....Did you read that Reggie Bush article? How about Warrick Dunn provided fully furnished houses for single mothers...

It's a shame that whole leagues are getting bad rep's because of some damn fools in the bunch....

Lol

How many MLB teams (25 man roster arrested in a single season) - 3 DUI's (that I can find) not counting Uriba and Grimsley both retrired

NBA - dozens (ie Blazers, Pacers jsut to cite a few

I love the NFL (Colts fan) and NBA playoffs (regular season is worthless) but the facts dont lie

NFL in one year 41 total arrests. 36 different players. 53 players per roster X 32 teams = 1,696. that's 2.12% of all players in the league-- if thats an average per year it beats the population norm

According to U.S. Department of Justice stats, 6.6% of Americans will actually do time in their lifetime

As to the Charitable BS (United Way only gives out 35% of all Money collected They are the BIGGEST charity scam ever (google 'em, their BS and Financials)

All the leagues do have fine upstanding indviduals but as a Business sold by Perception - the NFL is in big trouble

I have to agree, for every story like a Reggie Bush and and Peyton Manning, there are 6 or 7 others, on the other side of things...Just horrible...But football players, on every campus in college I've ever been too, just keep some shit going...It's almost legendary...
