Astronomy Magazine article
Interesting stuff. We usually think of the universe and other planets as stagnant objects that have been the same for millions of years. This article shows that the universe is a changing place and new things are happening all the time.
BTW - Jupiter will be visible near the moon after 11:30p.m. Binoculars and scopes will help you see it, but there will be a lot of light pollution from the almost full moon (two days waining).
