What do you all think of file sharing networks like Limewire or Morpheus, etc.?....I know they are despised by artists and record companies and so on...and I know that artists don't get their royalties if we take music from these sites...but considering that here in Oz, for example, we pay upwards of $35.00 per CD, then free downloads are way attractive.!!

I gave up using p2p networks ages ago mainly because I found them quite slow. I only use bittorents now. Pretty anything and everything is available.

Torrents for big and popular things (like new TV episodes etc)
DizzleExpress and other direct downloads for albums and software
eMule for every thing else..
(note that I don't actually use the eMule client, just the network)

Honestly M8, AF has replaced my file sharing clients...I rarely come across things I can't get without knowing where to get them myself or asking one of the guys here to post some links...
We have a p2p network on our 'To Do' list somewhere using a secure client called hamachi...Once we recruit another code whore to AF, we'll be good to go...
But if I had to use a p2p client, I think I have an install for Kazaa Lite Resurrection, but I am ignorant of any security implications that may carry...

in my 4th year of running SoulSeek now. had no issues with it. it uses minimal resources & musically one can find almost anything on it.
i've never stopped buying cds,but i'm dubious of the whole a-few-singles-with-some-filler format of the major labels these days. if there's new act i wanna check out or new album by a fave artist i'll d/l a few tracks first (roughly 3-6) & see if it's worth the purchase.
i do miss AudioGalaxy though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for the love of all that is holy, green and good don't use Kazaa or any inclination thereof.
I stick with torrents for big stuff (albums, big games, big apps) and
shareaza for singles.
if you MUST install kazaa .. :disappoint: .. at least get the blocklist manager and protowall from
http://www.bluetack.co.uk
I use
utorrent for downloading torrents
