So, there is this show on HBO about a man with 3 wives...I've never seen it before myself, call it avoiding envy if you will...
And the other day...Wifey asked me if she told me I could take a second wife, would I do it...And, sensing a trap, I said, 'Hell No...' But, of course in retrospect and away from the harm of hot grits on my back, I can answer differently...
Would I..? Hard to say...I was talking w/the BZA just now, and I agreed there is probably one woman alive that could make me never desire another...But that woman would probably not feel the same about me...But, say for example you could, in fact, convince your current SO and a former SO with whom you had a somewhat amicable split, to live together in harmony...I feel humans are socially forced into monogamy, and that we are meant to have more than one mate, but at the same time, and on many levels, I contradict that...
Could you have a big love..? Is such a thing possible..?

I think you would have to have 3 (or more) very secure people. Jealousy would obviously be a major factor. Plus that feeling of "being left out". One will be the wife and have the commitment and possibly kids, and the other is "just" the girlfriend.
What if your wife wanted to have another husband?
I don't know.....I'm still kind on the fence about this one. I can see the MAJOR benefits, but at the same time there are some MAJOR downfalls.

My wife and I have been watching that from the beginning. We missed the season premiere on Monday, so we ordered it last night on free on demand. Yes, your wife was laying out the trap! Nice move on your part. I hope she doesn't read this forum.
I think that I would be capable or caring about more then one wife. I could definitely deal with the "someone for each night of the week" but I know enough about women to know that half my time would be spent playing the diplomat to resolve arguments and the other half would be spent getting my own ass out of trouble and a good portion of that would be spent on the couch since women stick together. I wouldn't get laid by any of them if I have pissed off even one of them.
So, you ask if I would do something like that? Are you out of your mind?
Hell No!

LMFAO @ HL...Dude, that's exactly what I said to her, hahaha...So, to a degree I wouldn't be lying...2 women means double...But double of EVERYTHING...That means both of them pat me down for cash...Both of them find the only two pet peeves I have and work them simultaneously, etc...
On the strength..? If my wife wanted to have another husband...Shid, if he had major stacks I'd do it...I hope my wife never asks me the indecent proposal question, cause I don't think I could lie...Robert Redford could knock the dust of that, and I'd throw him a towel when he was finished, wash the sheets and everything...
I'm really not sure how I could pull it off unless I got girls from different backgrounds that felt comfortable in certain roles...Like one just really wants sex, one likes financial stablity, and the other as a kind of companion or something...

that is not what the show is about.
The show is about a man (Bill), who as a boy who was sent away from his family at "Juniper Creek." Juniper Creek is the base of a cult of personality (Roman) who has spent his life preying upon those devoted to the teachings of Joseph Smith, including Bill's family. In fact, Bill's father was the Prophet that started the group, and he was evidentally betrayed by Roman. He took a wife (Barbara) from a similar background who had become a "regular" Mormon. They were Monagamous with children. Barb was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and she helped him try and find a new wife. They could only find one woman that fit their family (Nikki). Nikki is Roman's daughter, and still believes her father is the Prophet of the Lord. furthermore, she wants to see Bill return, and believes his bloodline and hers has mingled to bring forth the next prophet and heal her community. She believes in polygamy, and convinced Bill and Barb of her honest belief, that if they were to return to the true condition of man and woman, that of polygamy; Barb would be healed. Her terminal cancer went into remission. Bill began to believe more than ever before. He had two wives, and they were anxious for another, because it is traditional to take an odd number of wives so none feel the one-on-one competetion.
Margie, a secular child of divorce with no real sense of family before this, was the new wife when the show began.
But the big thing to realize, is that this is their marriage arrangement:
Bill has his wife Barb, and two servant wives.
Barb has two servant wives and one husband.
Nikki has one senior wife, one servant wife and through the senior wife, one husband.
Margie has two senior wives and through them, one husband.
The women are married to each other as well, and to the husband through them, not each to her husband individually. The wives do not consumate their marriage sexually, for that is forbidden in the bible.

I know the story, but that's not what he asked.

Even still, structured or not, I'm not sure i could pull it off...Maybe not a second wife, but if my wife allowed me to have chicks on the side, maybe that might change my stance..? I'm not sure exactly, but the whole 'marriage' aspect seems to give it another dynamic...

I am of the belief that multiple womens = multiple problems
Keep the orgies for special, alcohol/drug induced occasions and/or fantasy life. Having multiple women in the house would not mean orgies every night, it would be like HL alluded to, multiple women to try and keep happy, which some of us, myself included, have a hard enough time doing for any extended period of time with just one.

Indeed it does. I have seen it a couple of times and it kinda shows that part too. Not quite what one would have fantasies about.
