I recently got back from a trip to Hershey Park and I was completely blown away by the place! I have been to several of the Six Flags parks, Disney World, Universal Studios, King's Island and Cedar Point, but Hershey is the best of the bunch (speaking as a roller coaster lover!!)! There are a bunch of wooden and steel rollercoasters and a large water park. A favorite is their racing roller coasters which run on intertwining tracks and actually race one another. Very cool and two completely seperate rides if you go from one to the other. We were there on a Tuesday and a Wednesday and were there right when they opened so there were not crowds until the afternoon. Has anyone else been, or have any other amusement park recommendations?

Man, I'm a big time roller coaster lover...I pride myself on being able to ride the biggest, baddest shit in the park...I've heard there are some good parks in Ohio, but I've never been...I've been to a few Six Flags, been to Disney like 3 times, but the shit is so big I almost never get a chance to ride coasters...When I was little, we always went to Great America...

One of the best water parks I have EVER been to is Schlitterbahn water park in Galveston, TX.

Great America is one of the best amusement parks I've ever been to. I've been to both Disneyland and Disney World but both of those are to little and geared towards youth too much. 6 Flags would have some good rides but not enough. Great America had so many rides that were awesome. I love that place

I appreciate all of the feedback. King's Island (north of Cincinnati) had a long standing tradition of building serious roller coasters until they were acquired by Paramount studios. Pararmount tried to incorporate a couple of movie themed rides which never really worked as well as Universal or Disney's theme rides. The park was sold to the owners of the other large Ohio theme park, Cedar Point, so I hope there is going to be a return to rocking rides! Cedar Point is on the northern coast of Ohio and is accessible by (a long!) ferry from Cleveland where you can hit the baseball Indian's, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc. Both parks are worth a visit if you ever get to Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo or Cleveland!

Six Flags Great Adventure if you can get there on a day where the lines aren't bad. Kingda Ka, Nitro, El Toro. Front row on Kingda Ka was absolutely amazing.
