First off, the NoScript extension for Firefox will make most of those popups go away...

Secondly, the only things I use for spyware/adware is the Windows Defender program...Oh, and Spybot...I'd recommend those two, used a few others but those seem like they do the job...

i don't use anything but Firefox. can't say i know much about Defender. am pretty happy with the grams i use now which are: Spybot,Lavasoft's Adaware ,Spyware Blaster & AVG. i just got curious as last one i saw supposedly scanned my system & detected trojans which is odd as i just gave my 'puter the weekly once over this morning with the abovementioned grams & came up with zero. i don't go to any strange sites so i don't get it. unless the "scan" was part of the ad itself. the ad/redirection came from the "Lexie - IFeelMyself - Gold " pic btw.

Get yourself NoScript and AdBlock Plus for Firefox.
Had to use IE at work the other day and realised how many annoying ads I'd never seen before.

i was the one who posted the Lexie pic. it's hosted on imagevenue. i have never experienced any redirection from the said image host either when using IE or FF.

it may be possible that u mistakenly clicked one of the ads they have around the hosted pic.

or it may be possible that my free avast antivirus is blocking all those undesired pop-ups/redirections. i'm not really sure. i guess the best advice would be to ignore all such annoyances.

at any rate, sorry for the inconvenience. ;)

p.s. i'm now on a clicking spree to test that pic for pop-ups/redirections, but so far there's none. :)

don't be sorry 2H. wasnt your fault. i've seen Imageavenue do that before.i suspect it was your Avast blocking shit. i tried it once but i felt it was slowing actions down much like Norton does.
