THIS!

But a real question is how did they treat the story? Accurate and nice costuming will not count for much if the story is not true to the publication.

My question was and is, how do you make this movie for anyone who is not a comic fan. V for Vendetta was easier. But this has a costumed superhero world, and how much time do you really have to immerse someone in that world AND progress the story. and how much of your audience will you lose along the way?

you know the drill, raum: when adapting something from one medium to another there will be changes made. i don't think they'll be wack ones though. Frank Miller was as pleased as punch with Snyder's cinematic version of 300. & he ain't the easiest creature to please. he gave Johnson a verbal assrape for what he did to his legendary Daredevil storylines. i'm sure Zack will have a reverance & respect for Alan Moore's near-iconic source material. the result i'm expecting is something similar to Raimi's first 2 Spider-Man flicks. while not being outright faithful to the comics,he captured the feel of those early Lee/Ditko Lee/Romita stories as well as a nice chunk of Ultimate Spider-Man (genetically altered spiders & organic webshooters).

Exclusive: The First Watchmen Video Journal!
Source: Warner Bros. Pictures
April 6, 2008

ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! is exclusively premiering today the first video blog for Warner Bros. Pictures' highly-anticipated Watchmen, coming to theaters on March 6, 2009.

Directed by Zack Snyder (300), the mystery adventure is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?

Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl), Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach), Matthew Goode (Ozymandias), Billy Crudup (Dr. Manhattan), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Comedian) and Malin Akerman (Silk Spectre) star.

Here is an introduction by Snyder for the clip, which you can watch either by using the player or in High Definition QuickTime!

Here it is, the first of 12 video blogs that we will be releasing during the next year to give you an inside look at the making of Watchmen. We'll launch one every month on the 6th, so keep an eye out for them as they will be premiering on various sites throughout the year. With that said...
