ORLANDO -- An Orange County student said his teacher made him go to the bathroom in a lunchbox.

Now the boy and his mother want answers.

Quonterius Thomas said Thursday afternoon he asked his Language Arts teacher, Shaneeka Chambers, at Meadowbrook Middle School if he could go to the bathroom.

She said he only had two options -- wait until the end of class or go to the bathroom in his lunchbox.

Quonterius' mother, Shameka Bryant, went to the school Friday morning to confront administrators. Principal Valeria Maxwell told News 13 and Bryant they are investigating the incident.

According to Maxwell, Chambers was not in school Friday because of a teacher's conference.

"I’m very upset and I want this teacher here to come forward and stop hiding, and own up to what she has done," said Bryant.

Bryant said she will be seeking legal counsel to advise her on what she and her son should do next.

Teacher On Leave In Alleged Lunch Box Bathroom Incident

Quonterius Thomas.

ORLANDO -- A teacher accused of making a student go to the bathroom in a lunch box was put on administrative leave after Orange County Public School officials decided Monday not to allow her back into the classroom. See previous story.

Jameeka Chambers was put on paid leave until school officials got the final word on the investigation.

Shameka Bryant, the mother of Quonterius Thomas, 13, the middle school student accusing Chambers of misconduct, told News 13 they have hired a lawyer.

"I'm really at a loss for words. I really wanted to speak with the teacher, myself, to get answers -- you know, get some of my questions answered -- but she's no where to be found," Bryant said.

"I just hope this doesn't happen to any other kids," Quonterius said. "What happened to me -- like use me as an example -- and you wouldn't want that to happen, and if it do happen, just make sure you tell your parents -- you know, 'cause it's something serious."

School officials expected Chambers to submit a written statement Tuesday about what happened in her class Thursday afternoon, the day Quonterius Thomas said Chambers made him go to the bathroom in a lunch box.

If a kid says they have to go to the bathroom...And they aren't allowed to go for ANY reason, the teacher needs her ass kicked, and if it was my kid would have they ass kicked...That's 100% inexcusable...

I remember that type of answer. I wasn't going to take that kind of shit, so I kept raising my hand and asking to go for about like 5 times or until she got pissed and says go. It's not rude or anything, when someone has to go, let them go.

Ok look.................if he was LEGIT and really did have to use the bathroom, then ok.

Otherwise kids ask ALL the time to get up and go to the bathroom. They will go and wander around the halls or go smoke in the bathroom. At least............that's what used to happen at my school. The kid had probably asked 20398102938102980293485485567957 times to go to the bathroom, either that day or other days. How much longer was it till the end of class? Could he have waited instead of interrupting class?

Now I'm not saying it was RIGHT what she did, but I do think it needs to be looked at a little further before some woman loses her job over it. We live in such a sue happy world, it's ridiculous.

You're right g00b, but as a teacher, that's not her call...If the kid says he wants to go to the bathroom, you ask him if he can hold it, if he says no, then you let him go...You don't tell him to piss in a lunchbox...If he wants to go do dumb shit when you let him out, then after he's been gone a few minutes, you go see where he is, and if he's not doing what he's supposed to be doing, you write him up, and or file a formal report with the principal or whoever that he's being disruptive...Request a conference w/his parents...Get on record that this dude either has a bladder problem or is being a hardass...You do that, this story plays out differently...

From the gist of it, this isn't a kid with a behavior problem, or I think they would have want to handle it differently...But a teacher isn't supposed to tell a student that...

And your supposed to do what with the other students that are in the classroom then?

I'm not saying that she was warranted to say, "Piss in your lunchbox". But what was the feeling of the classroom. I had a teacher in Jr. High that was cool as hell and used to tell us crazy stuff.

All I'm saying is let's take a look at the WHOLE story. Before suing this woman and her losing her job.

Man, when I was in school, our teachers taught half the class and we spent the other half doing our assignments...We're talking about a 13 year old kid saying he has to go to the bathroom...What's it to her if he goes and misses out..? She's on administrative leave cause she don't have a valid excuse to not let a kid go to the bathroom...Had she just let him go, none of this would have happened...I know looks can be deceiving, but that kid doesn't look like he was trying to go shoot dice...

And well, he obviously had to go...

So she's on PAID administrative leave. Let me know where I sign up

Seriously it was probably just a throw away line and everyone is taking it too far

There are kids in Iraq and Darfur under terrible conditions who are getting less attention

If I lived in Iraq, I probably wouldn't care if my kid was shitting in his Transformers pail...

But fortunately, I live in America and there's not a shortage of toilets...Kids have enough to deal with in school to have to worry about pissing themselves cause a teacher doesn't understand administrative protocol...Again, this could have been avoided...She was the adult in the situation and should have acted like it...
