So, I played it.

Felt like I played it before, honestly.

So, I have my first impressions.

Stark is voiced by RDJ-Jr with the same vocoder ase the on the animated series. Jarvis might even be the same voice as the cartoon, but he sounds "like a Jarvis". You fly around a compound, where they got Stark munitions and are apparently funding and supplying the "Ten Rings" (Mandarin, anyone?). The compound in a brown valley of doom, and not really interesting.

The A.I. of the enemies is a dullard, and can't walk around a building to attack you. But most of the enemies are tanks and turrets anyways. Against, Buckethead? hmm...

So, there is little challenge, but if you grab a tank or chopper you can press B repeatedly to rip it in half. Oh yeah, and if you punch tank treads, the whole tank goes up in flames... ya know, just like in real life. In fact, anything iron man punches goes up in flames. except people.

The one moment of glee I had was when i decided to go sniping people with repulsors. Prollem is, the omnipresent turrets are shooting at you before they are even visible, or in your target HUD. but what a HUD it is!

So, Ironman handles like he weighs NOTHING even when walking. and every time he hits the ground, he "ground pounds" in a signature shot. Every punch is that foot forward comic pose of overetension, which looks great, in still shot. In fact, it seems that all of Iron Man's actions are culminations of still shots, but just too recycled to carry value past the initial shock. RDJ-Jr. sounds apathetic to the game, and his inflection seems a bit off, which makes him sound bored.

Triggers make you fly and fire repulsors, and the direction pad directs auxillary power to the Life Support, Weapons, Thrusters, or Melee, as the players wants. In practice, on the Formidible difficulty, with power to Life Support, I could still take like 150 hits and destroy a warbird with two repulsors and a uni-blast.

I recommend that you play this game after the movie, if at all, so the excitement of the movie makes it seems better than it is.

But honestly, I feel that if they had maybe given us a better level, or an enemy worth fighting it might have been more fun. (demo ends when you get to a tank that looks like it might be a boss full of target weak spots (yawn). And you know, playing with a poseable Iron Man action figure was alot more fun, and I just feel this was a "fan service", but not created by fans, or people who even knew Iron Man before Sega gave them the project. From what I saw, what they know about Iron Man was probably just a few bullets in a powerpoint.

Don't take my word as definitive ...besides, I am biased. I had an iron man action figure as a child. He was brainwashed by Dr. Mindbender and was their top operative against G.I. Joe until he came back to his sense after Lion-O and Soundwave (who was really a double agent Autobot in my world) beat him. Then he swore Stark industries would defeat Cobra, and made a power suit for Doctor Strange that just happened to look like a Robotech Cyclone!

Iron Man (and Dr. Strange in a Cyclone) vs. Cobra! That is the game I want!

Came out for PS3 some time ago, I downloaded it and checked it out...I just didn't care for the controls too much TBH...

The 'ground pound' really bummed me out, I mean, everytime he hit the ground..? Good grief...I'm not saying I wouldn't get it, but they wouldn't get $60 out of me for it...

Please, oh please let my Friday be better..!
