http://www.sharebee.com/

Objective(from site):
Sharebee.com is the world first file upload distributor. Sharebee.com will distribute uploaded files to others (external) fileserver websites on the internet and maintain those download links. We want to provide this unique additional free service to all the users out there. And we plan to stay online forever so don't be afraid we will be gone suddenly!

By using Sharebee.com you give yourself and others options to download from.

Our goals are:
Quality - We are trying to maintain a high quality service to every country on earth.
Simplicity - Our website will stay to look simple but very functional.
Functionality - We will continually add new advanced functions and options to make our service better.

Sharebee.com is a free service that relies on advertising to support this service. Profit from advertisements will be reinvested to improve the quality of our service.

I am sure there is at least one other site similar in practice to this, but the name escapes me due to the fact that I encountered only once or twice before. What would you think if we were to have a trial period to test the site's services, retention, reliability, and quality. The main purpose of the site's service, as outlined in their objective, is to simply provide you an uploading and file-storing venue from which you can upload your media files. The key standout of it all is that unlike the other major contenders, it actually embraces and utilizes their same site capabilities and uploads directly to them, concurrently. No longer do you have to worry about encountering a dead link, since the likelihood of encountering one is decreased by the fact that you have multiple mirrors to the same link. Since I have been subjected to sharebee at firsthand, I can say that I trust it, though I have only used it from a downloader's perspective as of now. When I get it together and begin to share by the numbers, I'll be thinking to use this as primary uploader for a duration, then guage the audience reaction. Thoughts? Would you be willing to test it out as well?

Dude, you must be reading my mind...

I just came across that site last night, and aimed to try it out the first chance I got...We have to do something, file hosts are dropping like flies..! I have found some success w/a few hosts like GigaSize and MegaUpload, but unless we can come to a consensus about a site to use and stick to it almost exclusively, we don't have many options...I am not too keen on dropping my eggs into one basket again like I did w/RapidShare...And my GigaSize account is good for another year, so maybe they will win out...But still, I upload way too many files to try and be keeping track of whats alive and what's not...I post what I like or what is requested, and then if the file dies, I reup...But if I had to never reup a file myself again, I'd be beyond grateful...

I'll be trying it out today for sure...We may also be able to come up w/a custom solution for AF members should this thing work and be worth checking out for that purpose...

Although it is a bit off-topic, I'd like to address your "eggs in a basket" comment.

When you get the chance, I strongly recommend you look into http://www.orbitfiles.com/

It is perhaps the answer to your file-hosting prayers. Awesome beginning file-storage size of 5 GIGs, it is literally pennies a day to upgrade, and the professional support of the site means that it most likely will stay secure for the foreseeable future. (I don't have much experience with downloading from there since not many know of it, but with their 'Hercules Uploader', my FTV pic/vid collection of 4 gigs was uploaded butt-ass fast.) I have five accounts there, since I am dirt-poor when at home, not abroad for work. I am currently still organizing the one account I have files in, while the others will serve different purposes for music, movies, presentations, and programs.

Will do I/O, thanks for the lead..! I also tried that sharebee service yesterday w/a link, we'll see how it goes...

If there was a way to manage those links, and have that sync w/the various mirrors in the way of accounts...Man it would fucking rock out...
