Ty, let me clarify what I was implying.
Obama was READY to change EVERYTHING with this looming on the forefront of our economy. THAT was VERY ambitious, but totally reckless. Our economy can simply not afford to be led by a plan that would destroy it if something pops up... cause things have done that during every administration. McCain's policy has more merit, but it is still too liberal with our assets.
That is the danger of overstating the assets of your government and commiting them to special interests, regardless of their social impact or their good natured intent. That, by definition is liberal economic policy, and it has proved WORLDWIDE to be unstable. We can't afford Obama's change, and never could. I was sure he would see that in office, and he still might. If not and he tries major bold change with so much debt sitting in china's hands, plainly, we are screwed.
Obama has gone from a major detailed plan, and gets more optimistic and less specific as election draws nearer. It's called a "reality check," and you can't tax the rich to get it. You do realize with the losses in the market, ALOT of the "rich" won't make enough to pay taxes to support the govt, right, and some "middle class" won't pay anything? Do we expand who the rich are, sell more debt, or cut spending that is Barack's promise to the people?
And this is NOT about race, it is about something much more precious to me than pigments and middle names. to some of that is more important that the polarization of ethnicity. and most of us don't even try to figure out what the hell is going on in the bigoted mind. You know me better than that, and you know I am pretty smart cat, and I am not a "phobe" of any kind. This is about a nation of values I am willing to live, love, work, fight, kill and if need be die for. The greatest challenge to those is the tempations of socialism. and I did the time on those lines to earn the right to say those words. and I did some hush-hush dirt for my discharge, but I also cleaned up the environment, taught kids to read, tutored kids in history, math, and science. and donated my GI Bill to another cause. That's right - I didn't even sign up for the college money people think is the mecenary pay people seek in the honor of military service. I still haven't been to college because of that, but THIS country is bigger than a need for a degree. I gave entire paychecks to conservative non-religious not-for-profit separate from church or state charities in Oakland and Berkeley.
