He thinks the military troops in Iraq have the right training.
The special units specifically trained to deploy in Tora Bora and to recon are NOT deployed anywhere. They are still stateside. They are the only people TRAINED to the man in Afghanistan specific counter-tactics. Good on McCain for not mentioning the 7th, as that would be more info than you really want to televise, and have no impact the way details don't seem to be making progress in this election cycle.

The thing I like about Obama's military policy is the fact that he wants to get us out of Iraq right away and I think that it is essential. Let the Middle East worry about itself and let's strengthen our homeland security. Also, saving $10 billion a month will really help stabilize our economy

I feel we should have never went INTO Iraq, without a formal declaration of war.
I also feel we should have went in in 1996 (I'd have been going in, btw.)
I feel going in after 9-11 was a bad idea, but not unfounded.
Now though, a pullout will demoralize the efforts in Iraq, which are effective in categorical stages, like all military policing efforts. Also ALL of this is persia. Breaking it up did no good. Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan - all of it is persia!

I think we should officially declare any conflicts between the regions of persia will be of no concern for Americans. it is a failed effort to allow diversity to resolve the conflicts of a obsolete kingdom.

The brits and aussies are not in full knowledge of our military assets. Neither is Obama, or anyone outside of eyes only security clearance in the executive branch of govt. He has never touched the executive branch, and can't make informed decisions until he is in rank. Then if he is, you would see marked difference in his approach to military force. Anyone who was Captain in the Dept of the Navy would know about things that congress never does; and mcCain says as much in a less effective way. Sleipnir is not a word most people outside of comloggru (Command Logistics Group) have knowledge of. If *_______* rides out, ShadowSpear (marine SpecOps deployed in Afghanistan) will look like general infantry. McCain would rightly wage this war clandestine... like every president before the internet.
(and i DO have the clearance to know things that are not in the news.)
I still think it would be easier to economically and militarily force Persia to unify into states, and put them in a position where the only way they can maintain their sovereignty is to compromise so we ally with them.
