Obama just named Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff. I dont' know much about him, so do you guys like that pick?
Is there anyone else you would like him to hire as Secretary of State and Defense or put in the Cabinet?

The only thing I know about him is that he'll not play Yes-Man. This guy done calls you out if you are fucking shit up on the job whether they be friend or foe. a solid call.

Rahm-Bo, as he was called was a fierce democratic loyalist. Left of Center.
He threatened DEATH! DEATH! to those who betrayed Clinton.
The first thing Obama will do is coordinate Clinton's team and implement some ideas Clinton felt were too progressive at the time. Internet support will be a huge boon to this. A lot of positions will be filled from places like Rahm's senate seat, that are guarnateed Blue. That seat won't turn red now; because a great deal of loyalty was put in place with the Democratic party when Obama had to fight to win over Hillary. They needed new Democrats to vote him in the primaries. Most of those people are Blue until they die. The Progression of the governor of a state to a congress seat is probably assured in some cases.
Some people were happy they got to vote for a Black president. I already did before.
Rahm is a fun guy - but BLUE and LEFT. He called independents cowards because we are afraid of commitment to a party. Being called chicken cause I won't join a noxious cult is a problem for me. I do kind of like his sophmoric episodes though. Like when he came out for Hillary, and then Obama came into play, and he said something like "I'm going to hide,.. with my phone." The real trick then was he was working under the scenes. I also feel he pulled together good parts of a team that I saw do good things. EPA was very compliant with our Naval efforts for compliance, and I got a lifetime honor for that effort. In politics, I feel like a fourth dimensional being watching a game of chess. I will work with whoever is in charge, because what I do DOES work irrespective of party. That is why I am independent of party, until a party truly emebodies ALL of my political values.
As for where Obama's admin is going... His logo said it all. the red and white are left heavy... so is he. The blood and sweat (effort and opportunity) will favor those who can be promoted most easily to ensure a Blue successor to their current seat. Expect some Red leftists will also be promoted, and blues or other red leftists will fill their seats - he needs the image of unity to get that indy/red vote back in '12.
I don't care so much for left and right. I just don't like to to see waste, redundancy, and overstatement of assets by unrealistic forward projection.
Again, the first thing Obama will do is go left of, but comparable to, Clinton. In this recreation of the mythology Clinton was the martyr... The John the Baptist. Problem is, he won't play along. That is what defined his campaign. Energize that Clinton/Gore base. Shore up Kerry, who I feel would not have been a bad president but lacked charm.
Then again I feel like anyone who says any president was entirely horrible is being melodramatic. Some certainly did take a beating though. Of all Carter bowing to hostage terrorists was the worse. It's what enabled them to think that works.
DO NOT ENABLE YOUR ENEMIES OR TOY WITH THEM. It's not a hard concept.
you either let it go (Clinton) or Let cry Havok. A slow war breeds longer hate.
If you go in DECIMATE them - and things get better, the protests soon stop.
Still - Obama has to be a good president. Even if he has to revise his plans. If only because he wants a second term. But the real prize will be the most lucrative book/speaking/movie/EVERYTHING contract the world has ever seen. The first International Black President is guaranteed that.
