Hey guys i need a bit of help here. A couple of days ago i downloaded 5 movies via Ares , but i only got a chance to check them yesterday. As it turns out, 2 out of the 5 were originally upped to torrent sites & i can't watch them as i need particular codecs. the first flick needing something called XVOD & the other one upped by a guy called AXXO asks to go join a porn site & give a credit card number for verification before the site sent the codec needed by Autosender. Needless to say, I was not gonna give up my card number. so i was wondering if there was a way to crack the encryption on one or both movies?!? Thanks lads. ;)

Seems fishy...

I have never heard of those codecs, and my guess is that its DEFINITELY a fraud...If the files are encrypted, then a codec won't help, as you need to decrypt it to see the code anyway...There is an XviD, but XVOD sounds like 'Video on Demand' those pay per view sites...Obviously we stay away from them...

**edit**

Yup, I was right...

I don't think you'll get any joy out of the XVOD encoded film. I don't see a way to get the content out. Maybe googling around a bit more would produce some leads but it looks dodgy.

With regards to AXXO, he/she/it uploads good quality films on mininova.org usually in Xvid format. There is an Xvid codec available or just use vlc player. I get AXXO flicks and have never had to go in search of dodgy codecs to play those releases.

If you are having trouble, post some more details and I'll see if I can help you out.

Exactly. these days when i look for dvdrips of shit I type in AXXO in the search bar followed by the movie title. that person has upped some pure gold for me. I'd say 85% of shit i've grabbed in the last six months were his/her doing.

So anyway i downloaded Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist & when i went to view the thing after it was done d/l'ing i got this on the screen instead:

This movie has been encrypted
in order to view u must visit
www.torrentm8.com
and follow the instructions
Thanks
AXXO

The other movie was Body Of Lies & here's what came up onscreen:

Content recently protected by
XVOD-media converter

To open this downloaded media file
please visit
decoder.torrentsu.com
Simply install XVOD & enjoy your media file

As Ja dug up earlier XVOD wants a mofo to pay for the shit. Fuck that!

Delete those files. They are not encrypted at all. It's just a blank video with the text.

Go here to download those movies you wanted...

Use a program called uTorrent. Always go to VCD Quality to double check the name of a movie to see if it is legit: http://www.vcdq.com/index.php
