Man, this is going to be beyond hilarious...Star Wars is just one of those things that are so big, that they prove how bad they are by being good...There is no sci fi shit that can stand toe to toe with Star Wars, just like there's no OS that can go toe to toe with the PC...Talk all the shit you want, but my PC can do the same shit a Mac can if I spend Mac money to build a PC...And talk all the trash you want about Star Wars, but I will watch Clone Wars animation shit for as long as its on TV...So, time to stop the hate...Lets start the love..!

Star Wars is a subject that almost equals politics and religion in it's ability to divide people. I've come to the conclusion that there are two Star Wars , the original trilogy, which I consider my generation's Star Wars, and the new films (retouched originals, new trilogy, and animated films). The new Star Wars is just not for me, I have no intrest, so I leave them to those who like them and I will stick to the originals. Same goes for Raiders of the Lost Ark, Predator, Alien, Jaws...these films stand out like diamonds in the steaming pile of crap that is the Hollywood money machine. I don't care to see another Indiana Jones and the Crystal Crusade of the Ark of Doom in the Lost Temple of the Skull...thank you very much.

I totally get what you're saying on that though...Some shit is just good enough when there's only one to compare it to...I have reluctantly started to accept the original trilogy for its strong points, even though I was certainly steamed when I first saw them...It has taken looking further in the mythos than I ever have to really start to care about Star Wars...And when you do that, you realize that some of the best stories are the ones that haven't been told yet...If there are 3 films based on the times after ROTJ, I'd pay in advance...
I know for sure that Return of the Jedi was the first movie I ever saw in a theater...And I know that because I remember going, and my dad literally had to tell me that it was OK to blink during the movie...I was so scared that I was going to miss a part of it, water was just steaming down my eyes...He thought I didn't like it, lol...As you can see, some fanboys are made, and some are born...I take my Master Windu action figure with me on trips so I can make any desk feel like my desk when I'm away from home...

That was awesome Ube! I have Darth Vader stuff all over my house the phone, the mousepad, giant Pez dispenser, drinking mug, cookie jar, etc..It's pretty frightening. I can see why people hate the newer stuff. I hated Menace, liked Clones and loved Sith but the original trilogy will always have that allure that most of us saw it when we were kids so it's magical. Just waitin on a Vader cartoon dammit! :geek:

LOL!! Here's what I liked of the three...
Menace - Nothing but Darth Maul who was an absolute badass that was completely underused. That lightsaber fight was probably the best of any of the movies and was really the only redeemable part of the movie for me, hated the rest.
Clones - Liked all the fighting in the second half. And Jango was also a badass. His badassary isn't up to spec with Maul but he was very cool. And the Yoda/Tyrannus fight was neato. Anakin vs the Sand People....NICE! What bogged the movie down was the inane writing of Lucas when it came to the love scenes...yeesh! And C-3PO jokes (hello? Anyone seen Jar Jar?).
Sith - Felt too rushed and Anakin's changing should have been handled slower but all over I thought it was a pretty cool movie and maybe my second or 3rd favorite in the entire series of movies. Ok the Frankenstein yell was pretty off putting but I deal with it... :p

Darth Maul IMHO was the one TRULY GREAT thing to emerge out of the prequels (but I still pretend they don't exist in relation to the original UNALTERED 3)
So here's my best things in regards to:
Menace: Maul & his fight against Liam & Renton. Though I still think It could have gone on longer. That duel had tension like a mofo & reminded me of a real fight cos Renton got lucky cutting him in half.
Clones: The opening chase to get Jango. The fight between Renton & Jango at the cloning joint. And of course seeing Yoda go buckwild for the first time made me lose my shit (I'd just smoked a doobie before going in to watch it).
Sith: Yoda Vs Ratzinger. Seeing Jumperboy burning in the lava with his limbs missing. Oh ok, that look in his eye before he slaughtered them kids too.
I'll never forgive Lucas for cutting out the Yoda arriving defeated on Dagobah scene, the Frankenbean walk & Nooooo (I still say the last shot we should've seen of Darth in the movie or at least in that lab was the mask coming down & him breathing in his first ventolin)& also his biggest goof of having Padme die while the twins were newborns when Leia in Jedi says she remembers her real mom's face. D'oh!

Renton and Ratzinger huh? HAHAHA! :laff: Well yeah the Leia seeing her mother's face thing was off...but it could just be pictures she saw of her as a young child...and has them as misplaced memories. Or she was referring to her step mom who at that point she didn't know wasn't her real mom. Bail's wife mighta been a depression case who knows?
See how I justify things in my mind? And yeah I was hoping to see Yoda on Dagobah and baby Luke going there first too to see why it was so "familiar". Like I always say if they just cut out ep 1 and expanded 2 & 3 into three movies and left Maul as the main antagonist (after Palpy) throught the 3. They woulda been pretty kickass. Still dug most of it though.
