Stupid rar question...

My brothers I have a dumb question for you but what program do you guys use to open rar's. It's been so long since I downloaded my last file opener on my dearly departed computer that faced it's demise last week that I just don't trust anything I'm finding on Google. SO what do you guys use to open files? Or what do you recommend?

Kumicho wrote:Name of the Software: WinRAR
Where did you get it:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Cost: $29.00
Size: 960 KB
Version: 3.50 Beta 4
What is it: Data Compression Utility
Ease of Use: 8
Free Support: Yes
Description: Those of you familiar to the Gostosas section know full well what a RaR archive is...Using data storage algorithms, it resizes data to allow for faster transfers via smaller file sizes...
What I like Most: It's super easy to use, and convient...You can protect contents, and keep things organized...Things also take up alot less space, as it is easier to keep up with 1 RaR archive, than 1,000 images...It is also worth buying, I actually purchased this software...
What I like Least: Up until recently, the UI for WinRAR was quite shitty...But, with the 3.50 version, you can now download themes, which makes the program seem newer...To be honest, I can't really complain about this program at all, it is the best at what it does...
Overall Rating: 9.544 :tur:
I've gotten mine for free, but I'm sure I used a key. I think you can rollover the trial version forever, but if you take 20 min. to scour google, I'm sure you can find a reliable cracked DL if you don't want to pay the one-time fee. It is really the most highly-recommended, I believe.
I also used
IZArc before I knew what WinRAR was, but I'm quite sure I switched for a reason. I also hear
PeaZip is a good alternative, but I've never used it.

7-zip (windows) will open RAR, but will not create a RAR. And it is free.

TUGZip will open RAR, Create RAR, and just about every other format you can think of, including .tar and 7Zip...Its free too, and the only archive app I use besides RAR...Which I have because I paid for a license...But TUG is the shit, check it out..!
