LoL...You stoopid for that...
I don't know, as always, that is an excellent question...In the simplest and most ignorant way, the number seven is relevant, so maybe he just wanted to observe it...

since there do not seem to be any other takers...
DeEje,
First of all, it was not God who "rested," it was Elohim, nor did Elohim "rest" at this time. Just as it was Elohim who said "Ihei Aur", or "Let there be light."
Here is the thing about seven, in this context. The word seven in Hebrew is "Shabo," whose value is 372, the value of the phrase "Shemau YHVH", or "His Name is YHVH." It also has many other attributes, but this is the main context here.
The word for "rested" is Shabath, and it is used 71 times in the Old Testament. It is only translated as variations of "rest" 11 of those 71 times. It means "ceased", "quit", "was exhausted," and even "died."
This word is very similar to Shabo, and also Shabbathai, the Hebrew name for the Planet commonly known as Saturn.
The Hebrew letters are divided into families, and seven of them are attributed to the planets. The Letter associated with the Planet Shabbathai, is the Letter "Tau", which means "Cross, To cross, Intersection, to intersect." i.e. The Big ole letter T, which written in its original form, looks much like our lowercase "t."
This all has to do with the Creation of the Universe, called the Briat Ha-Olam. This has the value of 613. This is the value of Ehieh Atah ha-aur a phrase meaning "I am the path of pure Light!"- which is translated in the Bible, "I am the way, and the light."
Thus the creation of the universe if the uttering forth of one who says "I am the way and the Light" from his cross, and "is exhausted".
Now, of the creator - to "create" is Bera, which has the value of 203.
This is also the value of the metal, abir, Lead, sacred to the Planet Saturn,
and the value of Rab (to teach, to make wise, to store- the root of Rabbi).
There's lots more, but this is the answer, in general.

Seriously, I have studied religious anthropology literature and scripture in most forms people are aware of, and many forms that most are not, for about twenty years. I favor the original languages, because the errors of translations are often detrimental to understanding the "Truth" expressed in the words that *were actually chosen*. You loose context, without the very importance of the Language. My knowledge of Hebrew is most demonstrated here, but I can give any "scholar" a run for their money in the esoteric meaning of the sacred traditions of the Norse, Greek, Babylonian, Chinese, Gaelic, Egyptian and quite a few others.
And I truly enforce a examination of the "texts" (no matter what texts they are) in the original language of their authorship...
For example, the word "God" (Gimel Daleth), is defined in the Hebrew, until the Septuigant as "Destiny, where it becomes a "word" that means "Deus," from the Greek "Zeus."
Another example; The exaggerated use of the Aramaic word "Abba" in the dialogue of the Gospels as they emerge from the Council of Nicea, is supposed to be seen as a written proof that Jeshua had a "father-son" relationship with YHVH; but still not right to call him by his ineffable Four=-Letter-Name. The biggest distinction, however, is that the "transation" of the "New Testement" is influenced by the Greeks, who modeled Jeshua on their own Dionysous, the son of Zeus and a virgin.
This forced connection is easily seen, in how they chose his "Name", as "Jesus Christ"; which is "I am Zeus; the Redeemer" and nothing near what the Name of "Jeshua" means. Jeshua means no one thing, and is not used until the "New Testament". Nor does it occur as a "Jewish common name." It, at a glance, appears to be a mispelling or variant of the name "Joshua." It isn't even spelled consistinently in the "original" Gospels, appearing also as "Jeheshua", and "Jeshu." The spelling of the name in Hebrew; YVShO (Yod, Vau, Shin, Ayin), which was the name of a MAN who we is recorded as having existed, by the name of "Jeshua Ben Jospeh." and much of the story of the Gospels is based on things that did happen to him, with a lot of embellishment. He also was the nephew of Joseph of Aramathea, "the man who gives his tomb for Jesus to be buried in. This man owned Tin Mines (sacred to the planet Tzedeq, called by us Jupiter, funny that connection) in what is now England, and the titles to those mines are recorded historically in the annuls of the Roman Empire.
His "divine origin" is as contestable as the stories of his childhood that include his brother james killing lizards and Jeshua bringing them back to life by putting them in his mouth. You can probably guess why they left that one out; or every self-proclaimed "Christian" would be wearing a lizard around their neck, as a sign of the resurrection. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
(do you want to know the secret of the Lizards...c'mon I dare you to ask.)
How do I know all this? I study, and not just books.
Jeshua was a "Speaker of the Name", and a True Adept. He was a Qabalist of great knowledge, and;
They really didn't know what they were doing when the made the Bible accessible to those that the Jewish culture was not accessible to. They went on a limb, and we still suffer for it. What do we suffer, you may ask.
The idiocy of the person who thinks they new why a Jew "died for their sins," and is trapped unknowingly in flawed Hellenistic thought about the origins of human corruption.
Many wonder why I even bother to study the "Bible?" In truth I have one good answer. It is a contrived book, formed of many mix-matches, conflicts, and straight plagarisms of other cults, cultures, and religions.
but it succeeds in revealing through the "pasting together" of itself, as does any collage, the author.
I have no doubt that the "Author" of that book, is the author of the Chinese Tao Te Ching, the Indian Upshanads, the Phoenician Enlil enish, the Egyptian Papryii Se Asar, and even the Mayan "Book of Days"; Popul, and the the author of the Hawaiian KumuLipo. That author reveals itself in the mysterious "change shape, form, and placement" of every single letter in any single writing. This is the author of Creation, called by Initiates "The Lord of the Universe," the Adonai Ha-Olam, of which "God" is but a frozen Spark.
so, anyways... thank's again DeEje. VU makes me feel like a real man, and not just a flashlight cop.

Man your threads pull me in Adiriel! I spend at least an hour or so longer than I need to be, because of reading your stories!
I'd like to ask you, who/what is "YHVH"?
