If a Room Were Empty Except for 1 Coffee Table...

I am a clutz... a walking accident just waiting to happen... but knowing this does not always take the pain away. LOOOOL
I have often told people that if a room were empty except for one coffee table, I would find a way to crack my shin on it... and over the weekend I had one of those moments.
It seems I've been on a cycle of "home improvement projects" and the latest has been a kitchen upgrade. So over the weekend I pulled out all of the laminate countertops, cut new tops out of wood, layered cement backer over that, and layed down granite tiles.
In the middle of all of this, I was screwing down a guide fence for my saw to make a long straight cut when....
1) the screw became stubborn so
2) I put my full weight behind the drill
3) causing the rip fence to move so
4) I braced it with my free hand at which point
5) the screw stopped and
6) the cordless drill jumped off the screw and
7) The screw driver bit landed firmly... and forcefully.... in the middle of my thumbnail....
Now, i don't know if you have ever punched a hole through the middle of your thumbnail with a spinning screw driver bit in a power drill driven by the force of your own weight... but take it from me.... it hurts.
I think I may have actually broken my thumb....
...but the counters look nice....
