Do you believe in multiverses? if so, do you think God created them all? Or are there many beings on his level?

i tend to keep the term "multiverse" in comics where it belongs...
like how marvel could sell five different "current" stories of the x-men each month.

I believe that there are different "worlds", and each of these has a seperate phenomenon of existence (well, at least the ones i have seen), and then there is the big "super-system" of all these worlds, the ones that are, that might be, that could be, that will never be, and etc.

This "achad ha-olam" is what I call the universe; that is to say the "One-utterence" from the speaker of Creation.

Personally, I think the word Multiverses, is a misappropriation of the concept of the term Universe. Any multi-verse you "conceptualize is inclusive in the Universe, which is inclusive of all.

Do you maybe mean "Multiple Paradigms"? that is closer to being acceptable.

If you're talking about the concept of a "multi-verse" like the one presented on that Jet Li movie, then no...

However, with good reason I tend to believe that there is a good amout of non fiction, in a work of fiction...I feel that there is a piece of us on the different levels of existence, that cannot coexist with the other part until you are properly "formated" to accept them...I believe that gathering these pieces into one solid piece, will make for your being a greater entity...

But, I dont' think that there are parallel universes, where there is someone that looks like me, walks like me and talks like me, but makes different decisions, grew up somewhere else, etc...

Most authors of these sci fi works base them on some sort of hidden truth, and pass it off as a wonderful story...

^^I agree with you AYHJA...I don't think there are parallel universes. That's all made up. It doesn't make sense to me. There is only one God and I believe He created One Universe and that's the one we live in

That's true but kind of stupid. Do you think there is multiverses? That simple. The stuff we (human race in general) don't understand usually is supernatural. Deeje, I've heard to say that yourself. I don't think there is multiverses because they don't make sense to me that 2 different realities can exist at the same time. I don't try to get along with everyone by saying that they may exist anyway.

I read a book called Life of the Cosmos, in which the author theorised something similar. It was ages ago, and very hard reading, so forgive me if I'm a bit hazy.

He applied Darwin's theory of evolution to universes, saying that "in the beginning" a universe was created (big bang) which couldn't support life, so it collapsed back into a black hole (big crush?). Then it was reborn with a slightly different set of parameters (size and weight of neutrons, electrons, etc), but again collapsed. This repeated until a universe was created with parameters stable enough to allow stars to form. These stars would eventually collapse and become black holes.

A new universe is born within each of those black holes, again with slightly different parameters (in the same way that we bear children with slightly different genes). This process repeats itself endlessly, with new universes being created within universes, almost becoming like a family tree.

Therefore, we're just somewhere on this family tree, within another universe, that's within another universe, etc.

It also means in each black hole inside our universe, there is a new universe with slightly different parameters to our own.

Does that make any sense?! :-s
